NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I read the change in the title, I was desperately hoping that this was another late April fools joke.

I'm really sorry to see the Holbert car go down like this.

WTF do they allow such a huge discrepancy in the speed of cars on the track? If this is an unlimited class, shouldn't drivers have to meet a minimum speed?

Mark, make sure that you are OK. Sounds like there were pretty big forces involved in the crash. Did you get checked out medically?

As big a bummer that it is that the Holbert car is gone, it is more important that you are OK.

Is there anything salvageable on the car that can be grafted onto a new 928 racer?

Mark

Glad to hear you are OK. It's really bad about the Holbert car.

Glad to hear you are ok. I agree, please get medical checkup before assuming all is well. Glad to hear both drivers walked away. Cars can be repaired.

When I saw the title change, my wife thought someone in the family had sent me horrible email. Crushing to hear of the news. Now you have the opportunity to built it stronger and better. Glad again to hear you are ok.

Thanks Guys! Yes, I was checked out by the medical team, who actually got me a little worried about my kidneys. But, Dave Smith, who is a retired brain surgeon, and the driver of the white M3, gave me a once over too. impossible to sleep last night, but feel better today, which is strange, but good!

You know me, i tried to start it, as it starts right up, but runs rough and something is rubbing badly. (just for a second or two, with the clutch in). I wont do that again until we get the hood open and see whats going on inside. maybe only one wheel is savagable, rear of the car is perfect, and the strangely the driver door is fine. (i hit the honda on the my driver side and then it made contact in my rear driver, but the door was spared.) radiator possibly looks good, but I cant really see it and I lost all my water. cage looks good, but dont know if it is worth cutting out and saving. transmission? who knows, it might be ok. suspension, rear ok, front , doubtful, but hopeful. the real question, can the holbert chassis be saved. from the pics, (I added a couple more this morning) , I dont think so.

Now, we have to decide if it can be fixed and what the engine looks like. Next step is a rollng or running chassis S4. Gut it, cage it, bolt on my suspenson, swaybar and stick in the holbert engine and transmission in and paint it red.

This is a tough loss.

I cant stop playing the video in my head! Why didnt he just go both feet in!!! would-of, could-of, if-only...............ahhhhh!

Thanks again for all the well wishers.

Doh!

When I saw tread subject, I still hoped inside that it's another silly joke. But now, when I saw those pics, it feels like it's my car wrecked like that.

My sincere condolences, Mark..

Why do they allow a civic to race with cars five times as fast? Terribly sorry to hear about your car

Just saw that this was my first post since '05!
