Thumbs up Thank you Dwayne and Roger

I want to say thanks to Dwayne and Roger (928Rus) without who my Intake and valve covers R/R would not have been possible.

First Dwayne:
For taking the time to write a step by step procedure for that job.

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-w-pics-2.html

Excellent write up and fenomenal pictures.
The quality and comprehensiveness of your thread are simply outstanding.
It gave me the confidence to go ahead and do the job myself.

And Roger:
For providing all the parts that I needed for the job.
You were there (and often in less then 5 min.!) all the time to answer my e-mails for parts or questions.
Do you take some time to sleep?
Your excellent and fast service makes you ahead of the others.

Both of you are truly a big asset to the 928 world.
Keep up the good work.

Now my car is running better than ever and the engine looks very good (I think ).
It idles very smoothly and pulls like crazy. I love those cars.

Beside all the seals, gaskets and small rubber parts, I also changed:

-Umbrella washers for the valve covers - for a nicer look!
-Crank position sensor - broken connector
Had big problem with this one as it broke in 2 in the bell housing.
I spent about 5 hours trying to remove it from the top as I did not want to remove the flywheel (to mutch work involved) to push it from under.
Never pry it with a screwdriver.
-The hall sensor - broken connector
-Knock sensors - while there
-Throtle position switch (TPS) - while there
-Fuel pressure regulator - damaged it when removing
-Front fuel pressure damper - while there

While everything was apart, I spent a lot of time cleaning.
It was not very dirty but took the time to make it cleaner.

Also I had the parts powder coated. At first, I thought of painting it but changed my mind after readind a lot here.
It was a very good decision as it is a lot more resistant. I'm sure I would have damage it when putting all together.
Specially the passenger valve cover. This one is quite tight!.
Even if there is some minor imperfections (white spots) in the finish of the intake, I'm very satisfied with the final result.

It was my first major job (beside the motor mount - with a friend 2 years ago).
I took all my time to do the job well and if I did it, many of us can do it.
I know now that with some time, tools and RENNLIST, we can do a lot on our cars.

Thank you again.
Here is some pictures of the engine bay:

That engine bay looks BRAND NEW!

No kidding about the passenger side cam cover if you do this with the engine in the car as you did. TIGHT clearance.

Congrats.

Thank you guys.

Rob: Your GT engine was and is still an inspiration for me.
If I ever take my engine out, I would like to bring it as nice as this one.
It is simply beautiful.

Merci Luc,

Yes, we should do a ride all together.
That would be a lot of fun for sure if we could be many 928 together.

Bertrand,
If I had known your engine was that perfect I would have wrapped all the parts in tissue paper.
That is stunning.
