Default 992.2 Carrera T comming soon?

My friend just told me today that the Sales Mamager in his dealership has informed him that the 992.2 Carerra T (and to my surprise) & cabriolet will be announced in the next 1-2 weeks.

Any further information??

I’d say that it’s highly doubtful as we’re going into Monterey Car Week. A Carrera T mid cycle refresh is not up to the level of a car week announcement.

I was thinking about the T cab rumor and now think it makes some sense. The T may be the only manual Carrera, and the T cab would be the only 911 cab manual option. Assuming the mythical rumored Turbo RWD 930 manual throwback is coupe only. Who knows, they could pull a few surprises. I doubt we'll see a new T for a year or two though.

In the next 1-2 weeks? I highly doubt that when we don't even have a S announcement yet.

It makes absolute sense to launch the T at the end of the model year.
It makes zero sense to launch anytime before then, and even less sense to have a T cab. It's an oxymoron.

I am calling BS. The 992.2 T is not coming until the last year or two of .2 production, if at all.

I don't listen to anything rumored at a dealership... as we all know "they Sit on a throne of lies"

I've seen Porsche do crazier things. You can already option a T into lux territory with PDK, rear seats, glass roof, 18-ways, different wheels, full leather with deviated stitching, why not a cab? If the T become the only way to get a manual Carrera, and Porsche wants to have a manual cab option, what else would they do? Assuming S is PDK only, they aren't going to add a manual to a base. I agree it seems a bit odd and maybe unlikely, but not completely implausible.

I also think it's unlikely but not totally implausible. It's not like the T requires any extra development --- it's simply a packaging mix and maybe a few v subtle design tweaks like anthracite mirrors/wheels/stitching. Porsche might want to combat all the headlines about there not being any manual options in MY2025 by pulling forward the T to capitalize on the perceived demand. What else would Porsche announce in Monterey?

That would be exciting news to many for sure, but I expect it to be announced at the end of the run, as was the case with the 991.2 and 992.1.

Guys, thanks for your feedback!

As for WHEN it'll come, is open to debate, but one must remember that the GTS came with the debut of the 992.2 gen, and that has not been the trend in thd past models.

Porsche also needs to meet the high demands for the stick shifjt at some point in time.

That is just the thing, the overall demand for a manual transmission at Porsche is not as high as one suspects and it has been that way since the PDK arrived for MY09 on the 997.2. Manual transmission orders have continued to decline ever since.
