Good to see the car! Welcome to the joys of 928 ownership. Nothing will ever be the same if it gets it's hooks in your heart the way they did with me. You know, it wouldn't be so bad to go street/track car look with the interior if you are into that. You could fab up some RS style door panels, and put some racing seats and maybe even a roll cage in it. All this will be alot cheaper than replacing the interior, unless you can get a whole nice, clean interior for around $1000 (I've seen em' go for this on ebay) Clean the engine, service everything front to rear, and leave the interior stripped would be the easy way.

PS nothing wrong with GF pictures with the car. Just don't put her on the hood... They're alumnum and dent easy...

Looks like a fun project MTNKNG.

I think you've got the right attitude, just take it one step at a time and it'll be a lot fun. Even a perfectly running 928 can have a long "to-do" list, if you try to go after too many things at once it can get pretty overwhelming. The fact that she starts is a huge plus. I don't know if you attempted taking her down the road, but if she drives then you are way ahead of the game.

I just recently bought a $500 beater in way worst shape than yours, drove it 5 hours straight to the track, flogged it all day, and then drove it another 5 hours back. The car was indestructable and handled the day with a lot less drama than my S4 normally does.

Good luck, good times, and thanks for bringing one of our beloved 928's back from beyond. It sucks to see these cars turned into parts (unless there's a part that I really need. )

The "to do" list seems pretty comprehensive and he seems like he has some idea of what he's getting into.

Good luck with it. There are a lot of folks here in SoCal that could probably give you a hand if you get in a bind. Keep your eyes open for local events and show up to those if you want to get to know people away from the internet.

Honestly... most of that'll just buff right out...

You will have one HELL of a sense of accomplishment when you're done with that project, but I really have to hand it to you. Have fun, and post pics along the way.

Ok, Problem photo list

1) You are gonna have to replace the receptacle on the harness. If you search around here you will find a source for a new one, but I would just go to pick-a-part and cut one off a wrecked volvo for a buck.
2) That is the brake venturi tube. It is not broken, it just slips apart like that. Wipe the inner part off and slip back inside the tube and you are done.
3) Don’t really see a problem here. Just oily, probably because of a leaking seal between the filler and the case. No big deal.
4) Shock preloads are adjustable, should fix this up.
5) This is the brake pad warning light wiring. The problem is that the sensors are destroyed when they activate, and the cost more than the pads. So you replace the pads but not the sensors, but then you have the warning light on. This just defeats the warning light.

I see, so I don't have to worry about the brake pad warning light wires since they brake everytime the activate?... That's what the warning slabs on the side of the brake pad are for right? (the squeeling noise)

Brake sensors clip into the brake pads. When the pads wear out it wears through the metal strip, causing the circuit to be open and triggers the light. Most people cut the end off the sensors, solder the wires together and tie them up in the wheel well and monitor the condition of the brake pads themselves.
