Yep, I heard the same thing about the splitters and wings for the 951's...sooo many had said they were going to make this and that, etc... but eventually disappeared, and with no product ever made. Until I produced 4-6 products in 3months, imported another 8 and have 5 more due out in the next 4-8 weeks.

So, yeah, I understand the comment.

As for breaking into the 928 market, honestly...I am just as happy dealing with the 44 & 51 owners, as I undertsand those cars alot more. However, if I can help you guys get some products that no one else is willing to do OR has the facilities to do, then I will do just that.

I am just trying to help out...nothing more, nothing less. Let's see what happens in the next few months

sorry if that came off wrong, no offense was intended.

AND Believe me, I know about the let down of "promised" pieces. That is the main reason I just decided to do it myself.

Let's see if I can get this first little piece out in say....2 weeks, then we'll go from there.

I asked him over here Sterling. I saw as he asked what the 944 guys wanted and then delivered. I thought he could help us over here.

I really want a plastic dash with no glove box, but that may not be as popular.

Just chiming in to thank you CPR, if you make those hatch receivers, I'll be getting at least 1. I hope to see it in the plastic asap

Patrick and his products have a solid track record in the 944/951 community here.

We're lucky to have him as a new resource for the 928.

I am watching with anticipation to see what you come up with as a front splitter.

Very, very interested in that.

I just replace the S4 front spoiler. It cost about $500. Someone on ebay is making pod and dash cover already.

Lightbulb Cup holders?

For a while now, I have been working on a better cup holder design for the 928s that takes advantage of the room to the opposite side of the console. I have fleshed out the overall shape of the unit but have no means of manufacturing a piece that is sturdy enough for use. I could give you the design if people would be interested in using this concept.

I would also be interested in that front spoiler if you can make one, and a new toolkit cover.

Thanks,
David

suggestions:

splitter that uses/adds the OEM spoiler (maybe one that blots to the bottom of the spoiler) on early 928.

Aero mirrors that cost less than what Porsche wants for them.

GTS rear fenders/additions would be good, but w-i-d-e-r...... (see Louie OTT's fenders---but wider)

front fender flared similar to the Japanese GTS models.

extra gauge mounts on A-pillar (current offering is only for two gauges).

rear wing that doesn't look like it belongs on any ricer/tuner car.

I wonder how hard it would be to build a louver assembly like that and then just have to have a template and the mounting hardware.

There's an old Honda down the street with the Autoshade style side window treatments.

Hmm,

Another vote for a set of the rear mid-woofer driver mounting ring adapters, for both the old square and late model round styles.

Default Update:

I sent the hatch receiver and old 6.5" woofer surrounds to Patrick, they arrived today. He's all programmed on the plastic piece for the receiver, but per our conversation today, he would like some additional input:

To paraphrase his question:

What is it exactly you are trying to achieve with the speaker surrounds? Is it added depth to put a deeper speaker into? Or an adaptor that allows a larger diameter speaker? OR let me guess...BOTH

My reply was: a speaker surround that maintains the stock mounting holes and the stock 'contour' where the mount sits, so you could install your improved surround and then go back to stock without putting ANY new holes into the quarter panel. I'd just like to see it about ~3/4" taller so you can mount a modern 6.5" woofer with a thicker magnet or deeper cone in the stock space. Others may have additional thoughts. (?)

Patrick also offered the following:

That's what I thought...more clearance for a deeper speaker, just like the 951 guys wanted. But post this to the board to make sure we are all on the same page.

AND:
One thing...it would be substantially cheaper to just a make an extension ring in the same material, than to mold up an entire assembly. Now, the customer would need to cut out (jigsaw or dremel...it would not have to be perfect as the ring would hide any imperfections on the customers end) the existing speaker-reinstall in the oem location-install the new "extension ring" over the OEM ring-then simply install the new/deeper speaker.

These would only run about $50-$60 a pair in contrast to an estimated cost of $235.00 per pair for a whole new assembly (based on say...20-30 units), and could be made available in about 10-14 days. If so desired, I can also change the material to a colored poly-carb (glossy) to add a bit of flare.

Let me know what the thoughts are, and in the meantime I will address the issue with the "hatch catch".

Spot On!

Hmmm... having gone the route of adding a trim ring to a dremeled out stock speaker I would vote for...... an entire assembly.

Seriously. I value my time sufficiently that I'd like something that's bolt-on. Also, many of the stock surrounds are going to be busted in some way.

That said, there's probably a market for both a trim ring and the assembly. Maybe.
