GREAT SHOTs D!! Thanks for posting. YES! I do wish I would have known that. two stations before the crash was showing dual yellows, but the one before and at the crash was showing just one, and turn 11 had nothing. I really wanted to go! It was tee'ed up perfect! oh well, good warm up for Laguna!
now, its time to find some handling, cooling, power, etc etc before then.
Thanks for coming out. Always great to see you out there (better with your car!)
I like the comments above . I have a picture from my rear video video that shows the mustang "nose Job". I feel aweful about that. that was a very trick mustang!

The clutch now is REAL hard to get into first and reverse. It also requires a full pedal depression that it didnt require before to change gears smoothly. could this be due to the pressure plate, although that doesnt seem likely, or could the intermediate plate need adjustment? If it does, does it have to be removed to do it? I think its bad enough that it could force additional wear on the synchos vs how it was before. Is there anything else it can be?

Just some very short clips of the cars flying by....double-click on the image below and go to it on the Youtube site and then select the "watch in high quality" setting below the clip and switch to fullscreen too if you want.

Andrew:
I agree this is not good, even with the miraculous Amsoil which is very stable at high temps (20W/50 HTHS 150C of 5 cP). 230F (110C) or under would be much better. With this in mind, I asked Mark about Laguna and he said it runs cooler for him than Infineon. Had he said the car would run as hot or hotter, I would have been very concerned.

It was higher than the previous days race. It was a hotter part of the day too .
I think laguna will be quite a bit cooler. But, heck, the Holbert engine had no problem with 260F!
AMSOIL!!
A few shots below. the race 2 grid and the carnage of the mustang clean up on isle 10. Nice WC GT Vet doing a shake down race. unfortunately, more down than shake.

The NEED to control and remove heat is obvious with a statement like this..."however, on track fuel usage went up by about 40%. used to be near 7 gallons for a green flag to flag race, now its more like 10. " Burning that much more fuel means that much MORE HEAT !

Thats not totally true. my mixture went up by over 10%, so that is part of it.
Also, it was tough to accurately measure the fuel consumption, as i went a little overboard as i just didnt know how much more it would use. turns out, when i put in about 9 gallons after the race, the fuel level was where i started the race at. so, maybe the fuel usage is closer to the HP gain by percentage.
However, I would agree, more power means more heat and the engine has to rid of it somehow. the net power gain is probably a better indication. The net power gain is near 25% more. Ive also heard that the 2nd white line is near 190 degrees F, is that true. If so, is the thermostat still opening until that point? That would show that the cooling system has the ability to handle more heat. ambient temps have a lot to do with it as well. The transmission didnt feel any different than it usually does as well.
Dont worry, Ill start planning on some ways to get those temps down a bit.

The incar video sure shows the level of work involved in racing like this. Nice job!
Rylan sure takes different lines with his slot car.
You sure pulled away from the high HP Camaro out of turn 11 - that's torque, baby!
