No way! It must have been my evil twin! If you look at my first messages, I posted some VERY rice tail-lights that I photoshopped myself. I am not against a rice type design. But I think most OB owners, if they were to upgrade, would prefer an upgrade that looks like a Porsche design, not a Rice design. So I think a kit that makes the OBs look like s4s, would sell the best. The debate is if that kit would be in the same location as the stock lens, or if it should go out to be flush with the rear bumper, like the s4s, or if it should be inset, like the original... I prefer the smooth look of the flush designs...

reviving an old thread - most images are missing
I was perusing this old thread out of curiousity, but was disappointed when I found that most of the external image links were all dead.
I noticed there were quite a few who wanted some prototype images created. If anyone is still interested in any photoshop prototypes, I'm quite versed at Photoshop and would be willing to help if it's still desired.
No offense to those who have already provided photoshoped images.

I do not think anyone would mind additional photoshop concepts.
The main problem is getting someone who is actually willing and able to create the lenses.
Photoshopping a design, and determining what most older model 928 owners would buy is the easy part.
It's building the actual lens that is the hard part.
There was a guy on the boards who was making casts of the stock lenses, and casting new ones out of clear resin. But to do something other than stock, would require actually creating a prototype, so that could be cast, and copies made...

Biggest problem with these ideas IMHO is that you then have to create a new taillight reflector/socket assembly. And, doesn't the bumper cover have to come off to get the old reflector assy out?

What if it was a whole new lens assembly, with round lenses, that lined up with the old reflectors?
And to me, none of these revisions addresses the problem of getting the lenses flush with the body.
Until someone can extend the lenses to be flush with the bumper cover, my wallet will be staying in my pocket.
If you moved the lens outward, you could hook a plug to the light sockets, and use that to power a new LED unit,
that would sit in the space between the old light and the bumper cover. Yes?
