Normy,

I really like the way that looks. By the way your theory looks like the real thing.

OK, I suck at Photoshop. Could someone paste the tail lights from the BMW Z8 onto the back of a shark?
I am really curious to see how those long thin strips of lights would look......

Just had a bright moment and found the Rinspeed Bedouin conversion info. It's on the Rinspeed website (who would have thought that). Here you go:

Cool

I made a few modifications to my car. Do you think they are a little "overboard"?

<img src="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/928tailights1.jpg" alt=" - " />

Leave your taillights the way they Porsche meant for them to be seen. Or else you may end up looking like this to other people...

BTW... I can only seem to get 0-88mph acceleration times, everything is a blur after that.

You should hear the stereo... 1.21 Jiga-watts of power!

I just don't seem to have the TIME to work on it anymore...

250 miles to the banana peel, and partial beer...

Any other comments?

Normy,

You and I are on the same wavelength. I think that looks great! I would prefer not to see the black outling on the lenses, but it still has the look I personally prefer.

I still have not seen any other idea in this thread that sells me on going with a different style. Though there have been some fine suggestions, the final concept hasn't matched the original look.

Now what do we do?

We each do our own thing, and if someone likes what we do, we can hook them up with the parts and techniques, so they can do it themselves...

As someone pointed out, I doubt any manufacturer, or individual, is going to want to do a production run.

Maybe our discussion will make one of the vendors look into something, but we all have such differing opinions, it will be hard to come up with a universally accepted concept. I suppose an s4 styled lens in the s2 housing, flush with the body, would be the most universally accepted, since it retains the stock look.

Oh why not...lets flog the proverbial dead horse a few more times~

-Today I discovered that I had a tail light out. Upon pulling the lense off, I was confronted with a pretty interesting scene: The tail-light reflector. Inspiration struck-

Here's a picture of the "naked"

[Uh oh...there's that WORD again--!]

reflector. Why not install colored bulbs and fabricate a simple clear lexan lense? This lense could be nothing more than a shaped piece of plastic-

To make it look decent, one might want to take the housing out, and get it chrome plated... Then mount small LED lights in the sockets, and a clear cover... Could be a cheap experiment... But the first car wash could spell disaster!

You might be onto something there.....????
Forget the bulbs, could someone simulate some LED clusters recessed inside those original housings? Same colors???

Funny you should ask that~

I found some cheap [$8 each...] LED bulbs in Pep Boys today...they wound up in the rear turn signals. They make a very red flash at night...and appear small and round- the light doesn't seem to spread through the lense the way it does with a regular bulb. But what bothers me about them a little is that the turn signal now flashes about twice as fast...

N!

Now: Use your imagination-
