Close to the edge: Drove a New Corvette
#76
I just like owning an incredible hand built super car from days gone by that is still a very incredible, fun, safe, comfortable, pretty reliable mode of transportation; and one that you just do not see everyday on the road.

Lighten up Francis. I mean, you're kidding right?
The guy owns a 928 (multiple 928's ?), so I think its appropriate to discuss the possible move to another sports car here in the 928 forum.

Now I don't know if I'd call'em Crap - just not a Shark. Granted a lot of things would of had to happen (Porsche dropping the 911 etc.) but I'm pretty sure if they still made the 928 today, it'd be a much more refined machine than the Vette (much more expensive too) akin to other Super GT's like we see coming out of the stables of Aston Martin & Ferrari and the like.

On Topic? The 928 and Corvette share layout, weight distribution, are many times in the same racing class, and are two of the very few cars I would really want to buy short of being a Jay Leno type of warehouse collector.

At least, when constructed, mine will not rev like a slow train to texas, wallow around like a Cadillac, and have Lucas-electronics like hysterics in the electrical system. And yours isn't on the road - its parked in the grass like a lawn ornament. Do you live in Maine or South Alabama?
I don't remember saying anything derogatory to you, and the joke is getting old.
Why don't you take your 16 posts (two or three of which have been unhelpful and non-constructive) and go somewhere there are car snobs instead of enthusiasts - try the 997 board. An enthusiast does not focus on the hood badge.
