I agree......there is no way a C6 will be as solid as 928 when its 18 years old.....of course 18 years from now the 928 will be just as solid as it is now!
So here is my thinking (more like debate) in my mind.....in a year when my wife is done with school....I can afford a new vette..... the million $$$ question is "do I want one?"
I already have a good daily driver that should be solid for years to come & the wifes Acura....so I really don't need another DD..... I can make my 928 just as fast as a vette or Z06 for way less than the price of either....& its still a 928.....but I really want a 5 speed 928 track/DE car...that will become my racecar one day.....
So I would have my 88 auto as a nice driver....& a S4 5 speed to transform into a track beast.... The best of both worlds!!
I dunno.....but I will say this even if I do buy a new vette....I will be keeping the 928!!!

Sorry to upset you Gumby, as a newbie and looking at the rules to post I actually wondered why anyone would care to mention Corvettes and discuss them here, they have forums for that. If you want to get into a verbal barrage I don't think you have the mental ammunition necessary to put up a challenge, 16 posts or not doesn't pigeon hole me into a car snob, by the way the grass grows fast here in Maine, don't have any Mexicans to mow it here...

I simply asked why Corvettes were being discussed in a 928 forum and a few of you jumped on this thread like screaming banshees, you can dish it out but not take it... BC had no problem being derogatory and if you can't take a joke about the excess of immigrants in CA, (where I lived for 8 years & hired them to do my lawn) shame on you...I'm not trying to win comedian of the Rennlist forum or name calling either which some of you started as well. To the newbie Maine – I too thought the “Mexican” comment wasn’t in the best of taste. But yes, this is a 928 forum & as such - open to anything related to them. That includes discussions comparing the Shark to other vehicles. In this case the topic is about a fellow owner considering what the new Vette has to offer and how it stacks up against our cars.
Its only natural that this type of discussion will pop up from time to time. So please chill will ya or go for a drive & come back when you’ve had a chance to claim down a little.
