Did anyone mention that is a C4? 86-90 to be specific, if I remember my C4's properly.

I did not know the car was not changed between that weed-killing body in the picture and the ZR-1 smoothed shape. I supposed it was just refreshed without a full redesign, so its a C4.

For the second year of the ZR-1, every Corvette received the updated rear end and all Vette's received the newer front end. The side vents on the front fenders also changed.
Even after the accross the board change, the ZR-1 still retained a wider tail than the "stock" vette.
This is one reason why many Vette fans feel the ZR-1 was such a flop. You pay double over a regular vette with almost no visual cues as to what you purchased.

The demise or "flop" of the ZR1 was in 93 when a person could order the LT4 330hp and have a car that was very simular in looks to the ZR1 for half the price..the ZR1 option alone with the LT5 was about 32000 on top of the standard price IIRC.

Paying out all that dough & avreage citizens (John Q. Public) on the street couldn't tell the differance.

That didn't help either. Chevy was supposed to make the "Black Widow" ZR-1 engine standard by 1993, they never did.

Its subtle on the visual but if you know what to look for like the 3rd brake light on all ZR1's are on the top of the hatch, the wider and longer rear is hard to see unless they sit side by side and ofcourse the 11" rear's 315/35/17 is a huge tire for those days!\

Damn it!!! Forgot about the 3rd brake light. That is always the #1 giveaway.
