MAF voltage
Ok, while data logging last night my MAF voltage was hitting @ 6V.
I'm curious what we lose when the MAF is maxed? Do I need a "super maf"???

Hi Darien
When you hit over about 5.3v you are stuck one the highest load values on the base map. This means your fuelling is fixed at those values whatever voltage the MAF gives above that voltage.
Essentially your mapping is now just rpm based. This can cause problems ....
You do need a SuperMAF.

Darien has LH2.2. Can he use a SuperMAF?

No offense to John, but he doesn't NEED a SuperMAF. That's just one way around it. Another way would be to somehow reduce the amount of air the MAF meters. DR uses twin throttle bodies in his setup. Effectively, he's halved the amount of air the MAF meters.
Since you have a single throttle body, you could put a "restrictor plate" on the center of the MAF - the part that actually measures the airflow. It sounds a bit more simplistic that it really is, but it can be done (especially with the tools you have access to, Darien). Maybe a 20% restriction would be enough?
You will loose some of the precision, but I think that would be the same for the SuperMAF too. The nice thing about this method is that you can continue to use a standard MAF rather than a custom MAF. What if John was no longer available to make a SuperMAF? What would you do?

You can restrict the flow is some way, but measure the MAF output voltage at idle and make sure it is
>2.3v. Otherwise the LH will asume the MAF is out of spec and revert to limp home mode.

you can upgrade to the later LH and EZK w/built in knock control.. I did it, just need different harnesses and there is a wire or two that need swapping, but it's do-able...

You'll need two more parts to run my ST on your car, let me know when you're ready for them...

Just wondering if you had removed your screens from the MAF ?
And just thinking out loud...what would happen if you moved your back screen to the front of the MAF and doubled them?

Hi Ken,
I removed the aft screen when I installed it. I'm not sure if doubling up the front would change the MAF V?
