Just got home from the beach and there waiting for me was an EZK from our own Cptn Jack.
Well I just tried it, and it was actually worse.
I double checked the firmware and it is 3.00 and the STer software is 3.08.
So now what? I think for now, I'll continue to try and tune it the way I am to ensure I get rid of the knock and will send the STer back to DR when I'm done and have him check it on one of his cars and send it to John if needed.

Just a quick follow up...
I was in GreenBay last weekend and we hooked up Murph's STer to my car with his laptop and his EZK. Same result. So there is something in my car that is causing the STer to freak out.
We did not bother hooking it up to the LH as my AFR is pretty good. I've got one lean spot but I think we can just manually tweak the WOT enrichment map and get it to where we want it.

OK Andrew, I also understand that the "suspect" ST was found to run OK on another car also..... I remember that you also had a problem with the boost gauge added to your car.
Be very careful about shared ground wires between devices. Also, make sure there are no duplicated ground feeds to any one device. If a new box has more than one ground (e.g. analog ground and digital ground), run seperate wires to a good chassis point, not via a signle wire.

Man I've been away from RL for a while, can't believe I didn't see this earlier.
Don't know if you've thought or tried this already, if you're getting random knocks on the EZK, how about the connection in the engine harness from the EZK to each knock sensor?
Reason I say this this is I had exactly the same problem on the Koenig, I finally traced my problem to the engine harness itself. I had good connection between the knock and hall sensors, but would get wildly random "red circle, green circle" indications on the ST once the car was running. I figured out once things got hot, and/or would hit a bump, the connection would somehow get broken or interupted.
I ended up running completely separate wires from each knock sensor and the hall sensor directly to the EZK plug, lots of cutting and splicing. Upon disecting the engine harness, I found out why this was all happening, apparently the motor caught fire at one point, before I ever owned it, and turned parts of the harness a bit crispy.... But, problem is now solved and I'm currently playing with the EZK timing. (made a huge difference, the engine was constantly getting retarded 6 to 9 degrees before at top end).
Good luck, electrical problems are a royal pain!!

Hello Bill
The problem has turned out to be some issue with Andrew's car electrics........ all the EZK data information was erratic. When he went back to the LH that started playing up as well.

Thanks for jumping in. I have new knock sensors, but I have no idea on the condition of the wiring harness. Might be worth it to take a look. The wierd thing for me, is that when I used Theo's diagnostic box which records knock (total knock - not individual like the STer) it doesn't give me any issues.

I recently had to change my EPROM programmer. The old one used the parallel printer port which was common at the time I bought it, but now is a pain as most laptops don't have a serial port, let alone a parallel one.
However, there are now several EPROM reader/programmers available which use a USB port.
I purchased this one http://www.progshop.com/shop/program...rogrammer.html
from Batronix. Quality and function are excellent. It covers all the types of programmable device required for the SharkTuner.
No affiliation.....

I just picked up a new laptop...it has Vista. Is the ST compatable with it. I read through the FAQ but didnt see mention of it?

Hello Tony,
It works fine with Vista. When you load the ST software do NOT accept any request from the Windows program to "update existing file".
Thanks for the reminder, I need to update the Website !
