WOW! That's my first reaction to this AMAZING tool! Within about 45 minutes, I had the cruise and idle maps tuned. It was really cool how, just from feathering the throttle, I could almost will it to tune a particular cell. Then it was time to do the WOT maps.
I tried the autotune, but I don't think I was doing it right. So rather than
, I decided to adjust the WOT map manually. Worked like a charm!
Within about 30 min of doing some WOT runs, I had it pretty well tuned.
The beast is freaking fast. As soon as I get the chip burned, I'll work on the EZK chip.
Thanks John! What a spectacular tool!

Hello Andrew,
Glad to hear you had a successful SharkTuner session :-)
About WOT tuning..... Page 39 of the User Manual is the one you need to read. You should set the WOT map values to zero, then tune at WOT on the base map, where you can Autotune them. You only then need to edit the WOT map if you want to chnage the A/F ratio at some particular rpm range.
So you're going to buy a SharkTuiner ? Did you borrow the unit with the Aux board for LH2.2 ?

Maybe I wasn't patient enough. I followed the instructions to the letter, by setting the WOT map values t zero and then disabled idle and cruise autotune while enabling WOT. Set the rev limiter to about 3500.
When I tried to do my WOT runs, it was VERY VERY lean. I tried it a few times, and didn't see any adjustment occurring. So I went into the WOT enrichment map and adjusted those values. It worked, but afterwards, I re-read the manual and I think I should gradually back the WOT enrichment numbers down a bit (to prevent going too lean), and let the Autotune bring up the main fuel map.
My plan is to do this a few times until I reach the max values on the Autotune, then bump up the WOT enrichment values.
As for which STer, I have the one for use with the LH2.2. Why do you ask? And I will buy one as soon as I find enough people go in on one.

Hello Andrew,
I can't think why the Autotune didn't appear to work, did you use a high gear to give time for Autotune to work on the cells ?
I assume the high load (WOT) cells weren't being adjusted up to their max 128 value when you had too weak mixture ?
Just interested which ST you borrowed, that's all. You can datalog other sensor on the Aux inputs with the version you have. The LH2.2 ST manual from my site
http://www.jdsporsche.com/faqs/LH22%...0Issue%204.pdf
This tells you how to use the additional Aux inputs....

go find a dyno, before you crash & burn!!! MAYBE w/2 people you could kinda do it too... but I tried on my own just for fun and it's nuts unless you are on a salt flat/dry lake bed, runway, etc... also can make 20 runs in the time it'd take to do 2 on the road.

Rob-
Thanks for your concern. I was very careful in how I managed this process. I never did any adjustments on the fly. After each "run" I pulled over and evaluated the run and made my adjustments. Then I would do another run and measure the effectiveness of my changes. Lather, rinse, repeat.![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Actually, I do have a dyno guy all set. Just need to get scheduled with him. Will probably do that for the final spark tuning.

Andrew, I would definately recommend the "2-person concept"
I played around on some open roads out here and it's just not the same as having Tony or Bill in the passenger seat

Andrew,
Thanks. I understand that part of it. I'm referring to "normal operation". Similar to the non-O2 Euros, you could set up the ECU to not to operate in closed loop mode, and run on fixed maps.

Closed loop is better. Bucket o'worms tuning the whole base map open loop, and to get it nicely drivable.
