The 928 engine is somewhat unique in that the fact that the oil returning from the heads and camshafts runs down the sides of the block. I really didn't want to interfere with this oil return path, so I skipped the scrapers. The side mount pieces on the screens were designed to block the "sloshing" of the oil when the car goes around corners, while allowing the oil to return without resistance, to the pan. This stuff is definately not some simple grating that is stuck down there and a spacer. There's a bit more there than meets the initial inspection.

Thanks for the response. So the scraper itself is exactly where the oil is coming down the side of the engine.

So can we review the results gotten with this screen-type system and what you installed, and I purchased and still have waiting for install? I can't find the pics of the changes that Kevin made to the sides for this oil drain back issue.

How is the pan then sealed to the block? With two seals - one on each side of the spacer?

Pan and spacer are installed without any gaskets. Used studs and nuts instead of bolts. Looking for any rigidity I can find for the bottom end.

Louis: Not much to look at. The oil pick-up is stock. I just built spacers to move it down .375". I did retain the stock GTS baffle with the windage trays, BTW. I figure that Porsche is way smarter than me.....that actually didn't take much figuring.

I didn't see where the oil pickup support (two bolts) would go with the screen cover. I must have missed something. Nice looking screen setup. It should be effective.

Greg has a 944 GTR racer sitting in a blow up bubble .....brand new never raced .That is the Transam car which made like 650 hp out of the 4 cylinder. Greg can "fix" anything !
