Default Back in the saddle (return to 928 ownership)

After being 928-less for six years, I recently found a beautiful Velvet Red Metallic 90GT. Following a satisfactory PPI, I drove a rental one-way to Indiana and brought it back home.

The option codes are C03, 158, 498, 570, 586, and 650. Noticably absent is option code 418, protective side moldings (yea!). A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity has been obtained and all numbers match, including the serial numbers on the 85L engine and G2855 transmission. Additionally, Carfax and AutoCheck reports came back clean.

The exterior is in great condition with mirror-like paint and no swirl marks. The interior is excellent as well, with no dash cracks, no bolster wear, and very minimal warpage of the rear panels. Everything works, and so far I've observed no electrical gremlins. Best I can tell, she's had a pretty pampered past and hasn't seen much sun or rain (she was originally a California car).

The dealer said he had no service records, so it was a very pleasant surprise to open the glove box and find the owner's manual and service book intact, the latter being full of Porsche dealer stamps documenting it's regular maintenance. I've already had the TB/WP/tensioner service done and will install a Bilstein/Eibach package in the near future. As time permits, I'll give her the "Full Zachman" detail treatment as well.

Anyway, I'm excited to have returned to 928 ownership. I've been lurking here for a number of years, and look forward to becoming more involved now that I'm back in the fold.

Wow! What a beautiful car...and it sounds like it's in better shape than the majority. There are still good cars "out there."

Sweet! There is a for sale sign in the yard for the house ... so did you over pay that much?
