Just my opinion, but if the family made the request of "no porsches" then that should be the way it is. Why impose what we think Larry would want on the family during this time? It's not about us or Larry's love of his 928, it's about consoling his family.
I'm a little puzzled over this turn of events. I think we are attempting to overemphasize one aspect of this multi-faceted man's life.

OK. I really do not have the stomach to be discussing the car at this point.
A college fund for Larry's two daughters has been set up. They are 17 and 19 years old. PORSCHES WILL BE APPRECIATED IN HONOUR OF LARRY. Here are the fund details. If anything more comes available I will post it here.
American Marine Bank
Hilary and Lana McMullen College Fund

I believe the family talked and reconsidered and decided that Larry would have wanted the cars there, and what I was just told is, they would like us to indeed come in our Porsches in his honour. It did not sound like a concession to us, it sounded like they had decided this in honour of their beloved Larry. So I will be driving a 928.

ADam, I for one was expressing my own preference. If the family had not changed their mind it would have been in very poor taste to go against their wishes IMHO, not the kind of atmosphere you would want at a funeral.

I hear ya Sharkskin, I would love to see an armada of 928's arrive at my burial.
Don't think the wife would be too keen on it though.
Heinrich, I had posted another fund location that I received from Tim on the PacNW board (donations can be made to an education fund for daughters Hilary and Lana thru Island Fitness - checks to McMullen Education Fund). I don't know if this is one set up by the mom or friends of the family.

Adam I talked with the mom this morning and she will call me when she has the two accounts set up and I will post the details here. I do not know anything about another fund. She did not say anything like that.

My heart goes out to the family and trust that they will find the strength to accept this loss gracefully.
I too immediately thought of Nicole's sig line and just how little it takes for an accident to reach beyond a wheelchair, as we quite nearly saw at SF06. I am puzzled by the lack of a seat belt tho, as we all know it feels downright un-natural to drive without one on.
PS, it's good to see Larry will have a 928 sendoff.

I just received a call from the family and they have decided again that the kids specifically do not want to see Porsches there. So in my mind the issue is closed and I am going in my Bronco.
