Question We lost a brother

May God bless the family of this very nice man, I knew him and i am shaking with shock. I am very sorry. Shane, thanks for the bad news.

A college fund for Larry's two daughters has been set up. They are 17 and 19 years old. Here are the fund details. If anything more comes available I will post it here.

Wow. Tragic... and apparently preventable if drinking and excessive speed were indeed involved.

Was he on the forum?

A damn shame - but not wearing a seatbelt is just crazy.

Heinrich.........sorry to hear of the news of your friend. The courts have no idea what 'we' go through when they automatically award custody 99% of the time to the mother.

I could go on but it's probably for 'off topic'.

Tragic. If he would have had his seatbelt on, he might still have had a chance.

H
Was Larry on the list? Still its a tragic loss for his family and 928ers! I would like to think his seatbelt might have spared his life, since 928's are so strong.....still its very sad! Our prayers are with him!

Might have been deliberate.
Most people know better than to not wear a seatbelt.
Especially when drinking, and at a high rate of speed.

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s tragedy. I’m sure he was a very nice guy and just had a lapse of good judgment. Makes you think… one bad decision is all it takes.

Even though I’ve lived in Indiana all my life, I’m fairly familiar with the area where the accident occurred because it’s about two miles away from where my brother lived. This is a fairly residential area and not a place to be traveling at “a high rate of speed”. However, the corner really shouldn’t be that difficult to negotiate.

Heading north on Park then turning 45 degrees to the west onto Grand.

I just can not understand, sorry. I hope this was an accident because the flip side is going to be more trauma for the child and the loss of ever becoming friends. This is a heart breaker from any point of view.

Prayers are sent.

Kurt, that looks like a road where high speed requires perfect concentration. Of course, what people anecdotally call "high rate of speed" could easily have been a mere 50mph. One does not know. Malcolm, yes, I hear you as I have been there.

A moment of silence.

Don't drink and drive, always wear your seatbelt, and stay under 9/10ths on the road. And even if you lose custody, stay in your kids life.

Hienrich,

I agree since it was only one street away from the country club, 50 MPH could be labeled high rate of speed. If the accident occurred at 50 MPH it was probably due to lack of concentration. If it occurred at 100MPH it was most definitely poor judgment.

Either way, we can all learn from this and count our blessings. I know I’ve gotten luck a few times for instances caused by both.

My thoughts are with the family.
