I'm driving up there as posted. If Tom comes past me we'll hook up, either way I'll be taking the ferry.

Porsches or no Porsches. It's a very interesting dilemma. My guess is, if Larry would have had an opportunity to answer that question he would have said "Line up the Sharks and make me proud". I know if I am able to observe my funeral and 15 or 20 Sharks show up I'll be busting my button's, or whatever keeps those next world garbs together. Of course the bigger consideration may be the feelings of the family. But I can't help thinking that in a few years the pictures and memories of a group of people who thought enough of Larry to show up wearing the colors he loved, so to speak, and honoring his life in a way that was very important to him, would end up becoming a very heartwarming memory and memorial. Grief is a strange business.

I agree with Charley and as such I guess some forward planning is due. I'll have to lay that out in my Will that those wanting to honor me by arriving in Porsches and giving me a 21 x-pipe solute will be welcome...

For the record -- if I go out this way(or any other for that matter) I would LOVE to have a crowd of 928s for a send-off.

If it's warm for you where you end up Malcom , well, it's too late to repent.

For the record… If this were for me, I would prefer if people would drive up in Porsches to pay their respects. While I wouldn’t wish this on anyone; at least someone knows my preferences, but this isn’t about my preferences. What are our options for individuals wanting to donate to the kid’s educational fund or whatever? I would think this 928 community might be interested in supporting something in Larry’s honor.

OK guys: I have asked AGAIN:

1) Porsches or not? I mentioned that we thought Larry might have really appreciated the honour we could pau as fellow Porsche owners;
2) Fund or financial help.

They will call me back. Thank YOU ALL

I knew Larry personally... I was in disbelief when I read it today on our PacNW board, but once I saw the picture posted, it really hit me... I remember him coming over to my house and I gave him some parts for his car for free, soon after he had bought it. He was a really nice guy, absolutely loved his car, and loved it the way these cars ought to be, real enthusiast. This just sucks...

I would like to attend the funeral. I'll be coming from north of Seattle, maybe I can meet up and ride over in one of the vacant spots. Call me about it. This is really sad...

If you can find out where the car is and the condition, if its at all possible to salvage it, I think it would be a nice honor to Larry if we (at least the PacNW guys) all pitched in somehow and rebuilt the car and put it on the road as a memorial to Larry. Kept his passion going, ya know? I think he would have liked to see the car back on the road.
I know it might be hard for some to be around the car and work on rebuilding it, but its for Larry, and to keep it going for him, and would be a nice gesture in his honor if we came together like that in a living memorial. I know if I passed, I would want this.
If its beyond repair, we should appropriately do what we can.

Just a thought.

most likely i'll make the funeral.

Larry was a great guy, but as he died at the scene, i wouldn't want anything to do with buying or selling the car he died in. i also wouldn't buy a car if i found out some guy died in it. prob'ly best to just let it go.

besides, the cops may have something to say about it...
