John D. and Jen just sent in $150! With a committment for another $100 in a few days. I think that puts us over the $3500 mark, but since I'm not the owner of the PayPal account I need Hacker to verify. Talk about a strong community!

Not sure if Jason Carter wanted me to keep quiet on this (he didn't say either way....) he did submit $100 to the fund - thanks Jason!!

Add to that the awesome donation from John D and Jen (you guys rock no matter what anyway) + a few $50 donations this afternoon the new grand total is:

$3,449.28

Well I did say that if Jason posted $100, I'd match it.

Sending now.

Um, do you think maybe he thought you would match the funds for his fund raiser?

If we have not reached our goal by Sharktoberfest - I need someone to be our cheerleader at the event - see if we can raise some money there.

Mark K - if possible, bring the car to Sharktoberfest. See if Anderson will let you park it out front with a sign about the fund drive or something?

What other events are coming up? Too bad this didn't come up in spring - with all the 928 GTG's all summer we could have been collecting money there.

Yeah I read the response given as, he gives $100 to the motor, and you give $100 to his car.

I can't help it if he took it that way... I certainly didn't intend it to read that way.

Ok, so by my count we now have $3,549.28 which triggers Andre's $500 and the anonymous $500 as well =

$4,549.28!

Wow! Now that's what i call a fund raiser! Just $450 to go to hit the goal.

I think I have a set of 42# injectors somewhere (pending part number verification). Brand-new in-box (ford motorsport green tops). If anyone is willing to pony up $300 for them ($379 retail at summit), i'll donate it all to Mark's motor fund.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

(the color of the injector on the website is wrong. they used the same picture for all injectors)

We did it guys - in less than one month we raised over $5,000 to keep the 928 racing torch lit with the most historic 928 in the world.

Right now in the PayPal Account is: $4,474.28

This does not take into account the mystery donation of $500 or a very generous donation by John D that is on the way.

I was on the phone with John D last night working out the details of the donation drive - he is in the lead for top donation so far, so Mark, if you read this, that RENNLIST banner better be pretty damn big!!!

Some of you may be thinking "Hey, the total is above $5,000, what gives?" In reality the sale price of the motor is $7,500. So anything over the donation drive goal will help Mark out with shipping costs, development, testing etc....

So - to anyone who has not donated and would like a chance at the leather covered steering wheel - you have until midnight of the 30th to send in a $20 donation.

Thanks to everyone who helped out with this. Get your sharpies ready the next time you see the Kibort / Hobart 928.

Unbelievable! I am speechless!

But , what i will say, is that the car is an open canvas for Rennlist. Of course we will have the Rennlist and the members on the car in the most promoting way!

Now, its probably time to start finding some more publicity for the car. I dont know how Sportscar revolution is doing, but maybe they can do another piece on the car. Ill start making some noise with the magazines too. Its been such an amazing car so far, and its really going to be a force with the new engine.

Now, we have to get this motor in the car over the winter! We should also discuss options to take advantage of flat top pistons vs the lower compression pistons in the engine now, and possibly boring the block and using 968 pistons and making it a full 6.5 liter. depending on the costs, it may be worth doing while its in this stripped down shape.

Again, i cant tell you how much i appreciate the support. I think the car is very special and certainly will be even more impressive and competitive with 75-100 more hp!!

Thanks everyone!

Mark
