Nice work on the body mods. Some time was spent getting the details done right. As many have already said, I really like the fender well treatments. I wish you lived closer so I could hire your talents to do my track car. It does need to be lowered though. Wheels are good choices IMHO for this 928 custom. Post more pics when it's done please.

There's a lot of talk about lowering, but I drive this car to work. (not right now) so lowering might be bad.
I looked for wheels forever and everytime I went through a catalogue these stood out. modified phone dials is what I saw.(maybe just me) then after I got them I noticed that they were knock-offs of the Lamborghini gallardo rims. With a name like "Cipriani" this wasn't a bad thing.
Now I'm going to play with the interior a bit. Oh I can't wait to read what some people are going to write about that. One thing I can tell you It'll be a little different. I've never done Interior work before.
I'll figure it out.
So to everyone who has had thoughts of posting pics of they're car but were afraid to, go ahead It doesn't hurt. It'll make you laugh.

I always like de-chroming/de-molding, Have since the late 70's early eighties w/ Type I, II, & III VW's, with the early 924, and an early 911. Have shaved the door handles, got rid of the chrome, rid of the markers etc. and always thought a 928 could use that treatment, but have never been one to add Bling. Always thought less was more on any German Import. I like seeing the dechrome, molding, and door handle delete on your car. Just fill in those marker holes while you are at it.

I've always liked wheels that are reminisent of phone dials. I had been thinking about the wheels on the Koenigsegg. I thought that if there was a way to get these to fit on a 928 it would be perfect.
Darkside- congrats on doing YOUR project the way you want it. The car is not how I would do it, but I love that YOU did it this way. You can tell that you are a car guy through and through.
So, you are not a Porsche purist. Ha most 928 owners aren't, considering a lot of 911 owners don't consider the 928 a "real" Porsche.
PS: also congrats on having a SO who tolerates the other woman.

I love the phone dial update...
Where did you get those? Were they custom drilled? Cost?
It would be awesome to see a modern version of phone dials
available in 18" or 19".
I am a big fan of *all* modified vehicles, and even though this one is a bit
outragious and wild, I still think it's cool when people are creative with their
vehicles. Sure, the factory makes some nice vehicles. In all makes and models.
But if everyone left their vehicles stock, the world would be a boring place.
We would all have the same exterior design, the same paint colors, the same
engines, same amount of power, the same interiors, etc... So I think it is really
cool when people try to improve on what the manufacturer created. Sure, sometimes
people don't have the same tastes. Some people like their cars bright, or racey (ricey),
some people like simple red. Some people like lots of chrome. Some people like wild
body designs, others like their vehicles to look minimalist and simple. I think there
should be room for everyone. If you want a totally stock car, great. Your car looks
like thousands of others, and I really don't care. But if you have the ***** to customize,
it lets me see your idea of the ideal vehicle. Instead of driving something that looks
like every other Porsche, or every other 928, your car looks different. And that is cool.
I can't stand people who act like any modification of a car is sacrillege. There will always
be plenty of stock 928s. When they become rare, then people will think twice about
customizing one. But they aren't that rare yet. So if you like the stock look, fine. Keep
it stock. But don't hassle people who want to be creative. There is nothing worse than
Porsche owners who live up to their reputation as being snobby and elitist.

Hi, Not custom drilled, adapter plates were added. It offset them about 1/2" but I accomodated for that in the flaring. Do you really think this is a wild custom job? wait till you see my next act of sacriledge. LOL this one is very mild.

I'm in the early stages of planning a 'rat rod' with a tbd Porsche engine/transmission ( probably a 944) so what will the 944 crowd do to me!

I think its great. WE MUST REMEMBER, that the 928 body was OUTRAGEOUS for 1971 (1977 opener). CRAZY! It was out of this world for people in the early 70s.
Nobody is that bold anymore, and the 928 is a great platform for alot of different things.

I suppose if the splitter is lower than the original spoiler, you may have an issue. Your ride height look astronomical now, above the stock 170-180. I run 160 with zero issues as a daily driver. I don't think anything above 150 poses any issues with obstacles, but that doesn't take into account your splitter. My buddy George runs 110-115....driveways are an issue.

Thanks it does kinda grow on ya. All fender work is metal with some bondo finishing of course. the splitter is actually the same drop as the original spoiler 2-3/4" but it sticks way out. like I said we'll see. It makes a great shelf to set a drink on while your working. I'm going to spend some time experimenting with interior concepts. New territory for me.
