Darkside,
Is there some sort of flex mount for the front splitter?
Looks like it follows the drip-line of the front bumper so some thought has gone into it's shape.
Just worried that once you settle the car the splitter will be very vulnerable to curbs and major road imperfections.

Hope you've seen Stan Shaw load and unload his race car off the trailer.
The splitter struts have to be shortened to raise the splitter to clear the extension ramps.
Hate to have an unruly curb ruin your work.

It's good you left the rear hatch keylock in place. If the door poppers fail to open, at least you can still climb through the hatch.

So how does the project drive and ride?

Nice work darkside. The re-curve of the fender arches is well done, but I, too fear for the life of your splitter! If my spoiler wasn't plastic, it'd look like used tin-foil by now...

Hey RDS928s... I don't mind you not liking it. you can say whatever you like. I am not what you would call a porschefile I am an autofile all types yes even hondas. foriegn, domestic, Barris one-offs. all of them. Don't worry I won't show up at your precious PCA event. I don't care for such bigotry.

I have worries about the splitter myself I guess we'll just see. I can always make another and change it a bit. (that's the easy part)

As for the mirrors I dont know I've drawn up some plans for somethig else but the fab work will be extensive.

Overall I apreciate the feedback. It's not perfect, but I tried some things. All can be changed if need be.

If you are worried about the splitter do what the big boys do, add hydraulics that will lift the car for drives and speed bumps.

Well, after reading through some of the more immature posts on this thread and the comments made another one regarding the building of a wing, which I thought dam he's show a draft and looking for ideas. I'm not sure I'm going to want to deal with it as I improve upon PHAT928 which I was looking forward to sharing with the group.

This has nothing with being PC either the comment made by some where down right insulting and meant to be, if you don't like something that someone does shut the f*** up and look away not everyone is a purist. If you feel that you have open your mouth anyway then at least try to be constructive.

Darkside, I think that you've done an awesome job on Bertha, especially the fender work. I like the placement of the mirrors, I was thinking of doing the same but with a double post but like Bill said they look like they're sticking out a few inches too far. How did you do the air dam? Please post some pics of it once the suspension settles
.

Guess I'm one of the few. I think all 928's should be reconfigured to this headlight arrangement. Not too crazy about the rest of it.

Cool Knighted, I like the sound of that.

I just get a tad upset when someone pours their heart into a project and then when their finished and like a proud father shows off the new baby, others come along **** all over it. I used to the same thing from Mustang owners when I restomoded my '70, all I got was "I would've kept it stock" to which I always replied "If I wanted to be like everyone else I would've"

I think he did a great job on the car and even if it was not to my taste I still can appreciate the work that went into it, that's all, I just love car(928s in particular) and usually enjoy seeing what people come up with.

headlight blasfemy.
your vehicle will hardly be recognized now. As I've experience, people don't know what the hell it is even without the surgery.
I can see though you put your love in that.
good for you.
