Good response! The fender work (cut and weld) is VERY good, to say the least. Splitter in a day - amazing. Glad to see you are open to changing the mirrors. I do like the idea a lot. I am more than impressed with you fabrication skills and what you have accomplished.

Great PS on the lowering Andreas...gives a realistic look at what it will be I guess. I think I would have gone 19" in the front..personal taste here. I think the two sizes looks a bit American. The car looks a tad jacked up in the rear. I like it when the rear wheels are sucked up in the wheel well some.

To end this post of mine,...two words....LAMBO DOORS

Hey Bill -kiss my ***.
This car reminds me of a certain ethnic crowd that modifies Honda's.
Any self respecting Porschefile would not bastardiize a pinicale GT Porsche.
This is a public forum and I am entitled to my opinion just as you are. If you showed up to a NNJR PCA event in that abortion you would be laughed all the way home.
Obviously your taste sides with the kid Honda crowd.

Yeah, come hang out with my elitist crowd and we will laugh at you. YEAH, BOO YA

addition: Not my idea of what a car should be, but my idea is probably not your idea. I sure can appreciate all the hard work you have put into the car; I have done very similar modifications lately (albeit with a much different purpose/execution), and I can tell you that you have done great work to be proud of. LOWER IT!

I can't figure out how Porsche owners get a bad rap... Sheesh RDS, this guy put a lot of time and effort into his car. The work whether you like it or not is quality, give the guy a break.

I really like the work that you've accomplished - especially the fenders. Great job!

RDS,
Yes, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, as we all are. No one is denying you that.

But, please, show some class about it. So this isn't your cup-o-tea, fine. Mocking someone else's hard work isn't cool or classy.

You're sounding more and more like the 'crowd' you mentioned (which, btw, also wasn't cool). I expect more from 928 owners.

Hmm...Now I'm re-thinking my comments on the front end. Dropped down like that looks pretty sweet. I'm not a fan of the mirrors. I think the GTS ones would have looked better. But that's just me. I like the rear spoiler.

Huh? Was that called for?

Sorry, but I'm a little too old to get riled up with pre-adolescent behavior...although I do like a good burnout.

RDS928S

I’m going to say what everyone else is thinking…you’re the ****hole here.

Sure…apparently this car isn’t your cup of tea…that’s apparent…however…it’s a real bummer to have you on this board and not be able to express your preference for art without being able to display a bit of class.

Here on Rennlist, a passion is shared for a model of vehicle…the 928…chances are this shark was heading to the grave yard anyway…so who the hell cares how it turned out…this the best time to experiment.

And I highly doubt anyone here (shark owners) seriously are interested or concerned about any high-flouting PCA “impression” anyway.

Honestly…you’re making yourself sound a bit of an ***.

The guy put a lot of work into his car…so it’s not your color, shape or whatever…WTF man.

There…you now have someone new to pick on. Give me your best shot. Honestly, I don’t know where you people come from.

Keith’s right…no wonder I was amiss from this board for so long.

I like the concept of the mirrors but don't like the posts..would love to see a variation on the theme. I always loved the first year Ferrari Testarossa mirrors which are similar. I would love to have fenders like you have sculpted. Thanks for sharing.

I can't believe you got rid of the stock headlights. I didn't think there was a person out there that didn't like those headlights. But, it's your car. Looks like the work was well done.

darkside:

You should be very proud - only centrifugal versus twinscrew has ever raised this much dander before. I liked your response because you considered the complaints as well as the compliments. You kept your cool despite some rather pointed replies. Although I wouldn't do this to my car, I like the fender work. You've shown a lot more fabrication skill than probably all of the style critics here.

I also miss the headlights but...the color is interesting.
