IMHO this site isn’t about who knows more or who has the better idea or which car is better… to me it’s all about the fact that we are all 928 enthusiasts and that’s what draws us together. If one finds thoughts and tastes different from ones own repulsive, maybe their time would be better spent elsewhere. Me, I personally like this site because of the diverse opinions.

Cheers to all that love 928’s in whatever way, shape, or form!
I agree.

The skill involved is incredible. If you lowered it, had techarts, and it was black, everyone here would be drooling. It would then be equal to the best jaquemond or FAT BULLY. But there is no doubt about the workmanship.

All that matters is how you feel.

I just noticed;

hidden windshiled wipers!

That is awesome. Thats the one thing i would say was a mistake on the 928. They get in my view and take away from the frog eyes effect at night. Nice touch.

It looks like one of those crazy Hot Wheels cars in full scale! Wonder what that'll do to resale value?

^^ Well, its not like 1982 928s have a great resale value at this point.

I'm not diggin' the mirrors or the front spoiler/lip. It looks like it was an add on after thought. But otherwise, I think it looks good. Like the color. I'd like to see a pic after its lowered/settled down on those wheels.

I can tell a heck of alot work went into shaping those fenders, that takes skill. They make a nice transition from front to back. Did you do those yourself?

The wheels look great, definetly look like custom one-off's. I would get rid of some of that space in the wheel wells, the car would look better lowered. But that's a trade off with your front air damn. I can personally tell you a fiberglass front end is a pain on a 928...

Also, don't let the comments from others get you down, you obviously made the car for you and no one else, which is all that matters in the end

Then why are you here to begin with if you continue to make comments like that?

You call yourself a "Porsche fanatic since age 16", however your comments to this gentleman are plain rude. If you've been such a P-car fanatic for 34 years, then I'd think you'd at least be able to show some common courtesy to someone who takes the initiative to modify their Porsche to their own tastes. Doesn't mean you have to like, but no one on this list appreciates getting repeated, degrading comments. Perhaps your time would be better spent elsewhere if you don't like it.

Everyone on this discussion forum is a 928 enthusiast in some way, and IMHO, is one hell of a resource for many who would normally not be able to keep these great cars running. Where else can you go to get such a wide range of 928 info...

Cheers to all things 928..

Well said Bill!

Many ask..."So what do you think?" but that should not be mistaken for open season and to just rudely put someone down. I have seen all too often the bashing these days. Seems like this happens on many other threads. I have gotten bashed as well for my cars and ideas. There are just too many F'ing Rednecks on this list, that it is becoming an embarassment to associate with others who call themselves 928 owners. A new breed of 928 owner has joined us in the last year or so and I have found many to have no class at all.

I mentioned it in another thread the other day. Too many of the guys who really know what they are doing and have pioneered many things for us, have left due to this behavior.

I know I'M sick of it!

I think that the car looks cool and has a personal twist on quite a few details.

If I was doing similar modifications I would have done a few things differently but the whole package looks cool! It would probably benefit in the looks department if it came a bit closer to the ground.

That's a pretty interesting project - and it looks like it was well throught through! To me, it looks a bit like a combination of a 928 and a 70ies Corvette. It might be the fender flares that do this...

Either way, I think I'd change the tail light lenses to either all red, or red with only the back-up lights clear. You probably know about the candy apple red model paint...

You might also want to consider the clear turn signal lenses in the front, as they would unite the lighting unit to look more like one piece.

I agree with Heinrich that deleting the rear bumperettes would improve the look, but you'd have to come up with a solution for the holes in the bumper cover that would be exposed.

I'm fascinated by those huge phone dial rims - and they do indeed remind me of my HotWheels cars. Hope you'll provide us with more info on those.

Default okay here we go

Okay I knew people would hate it. I'm not so sure about the mirrors myself they seemed like a good idea. They might grow on me or not. first the interior and engine are next projects. the rims are "giovanna brakes" I don't have brakes from giovanna. they are 18x7.5 & 20x10 it just came off the lift when pics were taken so it will settle. ther has been no photo shop to the car it is that ugly. I like it. as for the resale value comment let's face it it wasn't worth crap before. so it was a great toy to modify. there's a lot more to do.
as for the rude comments ... ****-off! the rest of you thanks for the nice words.

Ya know, at first I thought it was a horrific bastardization and total lack of taste, but once you take the time to notice the craftsmanship (that appears to be there), its actually got some nice touches! Love the shaved door handles and no wipers, but I have some suggestions for you.

1) Don't lower it, bag it. Imagine how that would look with the top of the wheels tucked in just a little while its 'resting.'

2) Change the rear spoiler, doesn't match the car in its shape, but I think the main problem is the OB rear bumper. Had it been fitted with an S4 style (I'd do that for sure) it would work better, but still kinda funny in my opinion.

3) Seems like the front splitter is a little too long. It could look great if it wasn't so long you could use it as an access step .

Take that all for what you will, but #1 would be my highest suggestion. Any car with big wheels and fender gap never looks right.

Now, are the fender flares aluminum or fiberglas? In the last picture, they really look awesome!!
Is that Hellblau metallic?

I agree with both of the above. If you lower that bad-boy (..or let it settle), I think it will really make the car look more proportional with the bigger rear rims. Also, as stated above, an S4 wing would look more proportional too.

From the front, I think it looks like a Ferrari!

Maybe not everyone's personal taste, but I enjoy seeing different people's variations of custom work on a 928. Overall a wee bit too radical for me, but it has lots of neat new ideas and most definately looks like it was first class work & that alot of time & effort went into it. Certainly will get ya noticed, which is more than I can say as I drive around town in my pretty much stock looking shark.... heck even the louder sound of my DR Mountain Man Xpipe doesnt seem to turn too many heads, so at least you are drawing attention to 928s... and whether those who see it like it or not, just being noticed in one is a start!

I'm not one typically for the overly large, chrome wheels, but you simply gotta love those monsters being a phone dial look, thats a heck of a spoof on the original OB wheels I think & are perfect for your radical looking Shark. The full scale Hot Wheels comment is perfect & exactly what your car looks like! I say good job of adding your personal tastes and touch. It'd be one thing if it was lousy workmanship, but from the pics it looks as good as any car craftsman would do. That pic of the Hippo & the front of your car looks just like it too!

The harse comments were a bit uncalled for too. The collective gene pool here of various 928s & their owners & their perspective only helps make us all more well rounded in the pursuit of our enjoyment of the 928. Ok not to like something & to say so, but that can be a pretty firey dart to someone when you think about the amount time & effort that went into this car, purely out of their love for a 928.

I love the front end, the "Testarossa high mirrors" are very nice as well. The only thing I don't like, and this applies to all US cars, is the the rear bumperettes. They just don't look right, have a gander at a Euro/ROW car, looks much cleaner in the rear end. I like my rear ends big, but not lumpy!!
