Hey Darkside, how long did it take you to complete the project? I like the fenders and the headlight/door handles delete. Personally I think the GTS mirrors would look great on the car and some 18" wheels all around, but hey, that's me. The workmanship looks amazing. What plans do you have for the interior/engine?

Darkside,
Interesting project. Like the color and you did a nice job of blending in a lot of changes there very smoothly...

I think the front splitter is very well done - big yes - but well done. You do need a grille in there to hide the junk - matt black maybe...

I don't like the mirrors as they currentlyare.. I think high mount could look good but you need more mass in the support arms - more like a Testrossa - dual arms maybe, and a less angular look.

I like the rear wing - I think it suits the mods you have done better than an S4 wing would.

I do think the bumperettes should either be black or go altogether - I don't really like the painted look there.

But anyway - in the end it only matters that you like it!

Some questions: Did you just delete the wipers (no driving in rain or RainX ?) you seem to have blanking plugs in there - is that so you can option them back on? Looks like you deleted the washer jets though? And I see you also delete rear wiper.

Are the side markers just blanked off? or do you have alternate lighting in there? Did you also delete the sunroof - can't tell from the Photos?

I assume you have some significantly different plans for the interior too?

Nice Job!

I like the color and finish, and the quality. After putting so much into removing or smoothing lines (door handles, wipers and wheelwells) the mirrors are EXtreme and conflicted, they just don't work. Same for the front lip. It is so low and the wheelwell lines are high and wide: needs to be lowered and you can't b/c of shear size of tires and the front dam, as it is the dam would scrape w/i weeks. A nice looker, but undrivable at least not as a Porsche.

One thing I have noticed about any 928, is that they look absolutey georgeous in person. Pictures simply do not capture the essence of these cars. Certain angle's just don't look right in a two dimensional photo. But in person, walking around one, I have never seen an ugly one. I'm sure your car is the same way.

IMO, the body is fine. It's just the wheels that seem, well, out of place.

I'd be willing to bet that the general opinion would reverse if the wheels were
changed to something more traditional.

If I had photoshop and some time, I'd slap in some other wheels and repost.

I like some of the changes,

Get the black window trim back won't the paint just pop off the rubber door seals once the windows are opened and closed a few times? Split that splitter in half and that is a good looking car! Nice workmanship from the photos. I also agree, loose the bumperettes.

So, I made some quick ps.

I think i like the car, maybe to much with 20" in the rear, but so what. The rest looks just right. Love the front, looks a bit like the one I build http://www.garaget.org/?car=23227.

The rear fender etc looks really sharp. As someone said the 928 looks crazy no matter modded or stock if the suspension is jacked up.

Please post a pic when the car has sattled / been lowered. It will as in the picture posted look a hell of a lot better.

I like people who have the guts to do something different, keep up the good work.

I like it. Those rims look like the huge Oz Racing cusom phone dials that were on sale on Ebay recently. Don't mind the haters. If everyone had the same taste we would all be fighting over the same woman and the same car. I think it looks well done. Is that a GTS-5 wing on the back? Tell me more about the splitter please. All in all, great job.

The shaved door handles and locks look awesome - I would have ditched the side markers as well.

Awesome dude!
How can I get a set of the front lights?
You need to lower it way down... and it needs a supercharger to back up the look...

Okay I'll try to respond to everything I just read.
First the front wipers are not deleted they aren't on yet.
the marker lights aren't in either.
I made the splitter one afternoon because I liked the one on stan shaws racer.
the headlight are halos made for chevy pick-ups 88-94 ??
the interior is going to get some work I've got some ideas the rear seats will not be hanging around, there will have to be a bigger rear deck so my dogs have some room.
oh yeah the flares are metal front and rear I sliced bent and welded I think they came out okay.
there is no paint on the rubber around windows just the metal it was all removed prepped and painted.
as for the bumperettes I might try something different later right now it's drivable.
like i said the mirrors may grow on me or I might fab something like enzo mirrors.we'll see.
Thanks again for encouraging my project.
the wife is being quite a sport about it. since for two months I spent everynight with another girl (Bertha) oh Bertha is from a song called "Trogladites" one line speaks of big bertha butt- one of the butt sisters. gotta love that a$$

What's up with the doors? And how do they open and lock now?

Keep up the good work!

Default door poppers

The doors just use standard remote poppers.
