Default And So it Begins... Denver OCIC Pictures...on the road in..

Well Rich/Betsy and I set off bright and early today for the slow trip to Denver.. (well not that slow)

Left Phoenix @ 7:30am on rural roads slicing diagonally north east up towards New Mexico. A brief freeway stint then back off to the quiet roads: scenic (in a baren way) New Mexico - photo here in the vicinity of Shiprock, Filling up again on the way then on to the green lush mountains of Colorado photo here descending the pass into Ouray. Didn't use much fuel getting down!

Post your on the way photos here too...

don't you just love hotels with free internet

We had dinner tonight with Bill & Jill who have two 928's - a good time. Rich demonstrated the "Human Beams" those of yu going to Denver will see it for yourselves!

Alan

I love the last picture above... a wide open empty road ahead beckoning a willing shark.

Thanks for posting those Alan, and hope you and others keep them coming, because as Bill said:

Ditto for me, as I'm not going to be able to make it to the OCIC (first one I've missed!) Just way too far behind on house projects since we moved a few months ago (now working on garage, which needs to be usable before my 928SP SC kit comes).

Now, for all you guys and gals going to the OCIC (and, in particular, those who plan on doing the Estes Park run), I'll draw your attention to my post #58 from the "Best Roads In America for the 928" thread from awhile back. My wife and I were at Estes Park (stayed at the Stanley Hotel) for a few days about a year ago. If you make it to Estes Park, don't miss the Trail Ridge Road, and if you have a little more time, check out that segment of Highway 7 along the Middle and South Saint Vrain rivers. (See my above-mentioned post for more info).

I can't claim the rig, it's owned by my friend's dad. The 911 is my friend's, it and my 928 were both owned by his father, a nationally known VW bus collector.

I was wondering about the huge VW logo... tell everyone that you have a biggie-sized Corrado and a rare Turbo Beetle on the trailer!
