Alan,

Thanks for the pictures, wish we could've gone with you guys... keep 'em comin', it's the next best thing to being there.

BTW, why is Rich making Betsy fill the gas tank
or is it her turn to drive

And... what's up with Rich driving the S4, no GTS ???, or is he not allowed since he's already won at a previous OCIC concour with it

Professor Ott and I should be in SLC for dinner tomorrow evening. We are going to find rooms on the east side of SLC and then power into Denver Friday. If anyone wants to join us we are meeting Dave Lomas at his shop tomorrow evening.

No Rich didn't let Betsy drive...

I think while Betsy was filling it Rich was emptying something....

Meanwhile Rich's GTS is avioding accumulating unnecessary miles... but Its not like that slowed us down, of course I just drive mine since I only have one!

Lots of radar yesterday - but we survived quite unscathed...

Made it to Silverthorne, CO in good time. Arrived at Marc White's condo, unwound - had dinner, got some supplies then Marc & Teri arrived from Kansas.

Great place! good company! Everyone "played the beams" last night concensus is they are fantastic!!!

We are almost there now so a leisurely day today enroute to Denver...

Alan

Photo's 3 sharks in a row & a closer look @ Marc's S4 with the nice 18" wheels

The beams are very cool. A friend of Riches is a long time musician who invented an instrument that uses laser beams to trigger sampled sound bites. The instrument is linked to a sound sourcing program.

Randy,

They're hard to explain - other than 928s, the last 3.5 years of my life have been devoted to bringing them to market. Per our friends Marc and Teri, they are a life changing experience. Those who will attend the next few nights will experience them.

As a teaser, this is Quincy Jones playing them .... as shown on NBC nightline.

Default Thursday from my persepective

OK, here are some photos from Thursday ... Marc, Teri, Alan, Betsy and I started out in Silverthorne. First we had a photo session at a VERY nice home we visited .... and then we drove down to Denver on I70. We hit some construction that delayed us for about 30 minutes and then enjoyed rush hour traffic into Denver.

The first night of the 2006 OCIC was fun for all. We had plenty of time to get to renew friendships and meet many new 928 folks.

The last photo is our official 2006 OCIC poster boy - Erik - thanks to Eric and Richard and the other Denver folks for setting up this event. Richard was so busy taking photos I didn't capture his likeness. NICE event shirts!!

Rich is a partner in a small consortium that has developed a product named "Human Beams". The 'operator interface" is a matrix of lasers and photodiodes that interface to a PC, with a fancy bit of custom software that allows you to 'generate' music by gesticulating through the lasers... uh, the 'Beams'. It's way cool, and allows some of us who might be otherwise musically-challenged to come up with some great sounds.

Rich was in L.A. a little while back, at a very top-end entertainmnet expo, where the "Beams" jammed with an all-star group of musicians.

Default 5 Miles prior to Denver... finally the negikne is broken in :)

We made it safely to Denver and met a great group at the hotel. Looking forward to all the events

On our way just outside of Denver my GTS clocked exactly 200 000 km. The engine must be finally broken in, because it never used only 10.2 l/100km or exactly 23 MPG.

Well, Amy and I made it safely and without further problems. We had the car washed by Porschephile_924 (Geoff Shilling), and arrived at the hotel. Went to the reception and fell into bed shortly after 10PM. In a few minutes we'll be off to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park for the first activity of this event...

Default Gmund Day

Wow, what an experience. Everything from Porsche tractors, to a 1949 Porsche 356 to around 30 928s and Porsches of all types and ages. Thanks Rich and Erik for getting us included in such a unique event!
