Agreed, you may have a 'breaking' point where your throttle will all of a sudden get easier and you don't want that witht the SC motor
You should be able to tell since your throttle is hooked up.

I would have the front wheel a bit more forward so the initial angle of cable pull on the throttle lever is a little less acute. It would reduce the initial tension and pedal effort. You just do not want the wkeel so far forward that you do not get WOT. Even with the cable pulling almost straight down, I get WOT. If the pedal feels even and the throttle works well, leave it alone.

"I can get you the measurements if you are interested"

Pmotts, if you don't mind. Next time the car it back on the road I want to be sure it won't touch the belt again.

Thanks

Has your belt wandered off of the pulley? This won't keep your hose from hitting the belt but it will keep your belt from hitting your hose. Does that make sense?

The belt has not wandered off the pulley, it just moved and punctured the hose. I also will be fabricating a plate to move the pulley forward and will be installing an 85 lower radiator hose.

Default S4 Fans

Bill:
What are you running for fans on your S4?

It is apparent that the stock shroud will not fit with the power steering pulley shifted this far forward.

Bill is running Devek fans. I know what you are referring too Brian, I cannot imagen the 85 hose making a huge improvement about the clearance. But I will install it this weekend and will let ya'll know if it works.

I know it doesn't seem like it at first... but its a difference between 1/4" or less, and several inches. There's no way your motor is moving several inches forward unless you've got some problems. Trust us, it'll help

Gio:

I installed the 85- hose before the DEVEK fan shroud, and it definitely helped. Otherwsie you must use a strong tiewrap to pull the hose forward and fasten in to the shround. It still may help to do that with the 85- hose to prevent it from flopping around and hitting the belt.

Default Track report DE time

I just want to say that I had a blast the last two days at Mid Ohio with my car.

We were the first guinea pigs to run the new short course on Monday and then ran the traditional long course on Tuesday.

The car ran flawlessly and I ran a personal best lap of 1:47. I haven't been to Mid Ohio since my car was an automatic, N/A and running on stock wheels and brakes. I saw a reduction in time from about 2:01 - 2:02 to the 1:47.

Sorry for the gloating.....but I am still pumped.

I test drove today with the aluminum replacements for the leaking rubber injector boots. I'm very pleased, a very tight O-ring seal. I will post pictures later if Rob gives the OK.

More driving today (Friday 8/25/06), crisper throttle response and steadier idle; maybe more power.
