Gary, check the car VERY close, Joe Maniaci was the owner of the 91 GT that had 12K damage to the rear that was never disclosed. Not saying Joe isn't a stand up guy but after talking to him before buying the GT, he would not comment on the condition.
Good luck with the GTS, that looks to be a keeper for sure if it checks out.

Yep that's right, he's not kidding .... weird as it seems, Shane always plays lots of cowbell while he buffs his Porsches ... seems to kind of hypnotise the fellow into a zone where he can polish a whole day with nothing but a couple of packs of cigarettes and some pork rinds .... mazing, a true sight to behold.

Good job Gary! Hope it turns out okay, but if it doesn't look right... be sure to walk away. Another car will pop up soon. It's just too easy to get emotionally involved in these decisions. I walked on 2 S4's before buying my GT - the first one was REAL hard to walk away from - the 2nd... well, Randy V got me drunk, and now I don't even remember the car. LOL!

Gary;

Be on your guard! I delt with Joe a number of years ago while looking for F-cars (and on the Ferrarichat list). I didn't care for his ethics or attitude. FWIW.

Gary, get a PPI before you buy it.

I'm less worried about Gary being able to perform his own PPI than I am about Gary completely dismantling the car in the process. Gary (and Earl) can put a 928 into buckets and boxes fast enough to make your head swim. (Nothing on Mark Anderson and crew, but, still, darn fast.)

I can just imagine Gary standing, looking at a pile of parts, turning to Joe M, and saying, "Nah..." and getting back on the plane

Just thought I'd add an update on the subject. I have 2 buyers for my complete low miles (kilometers) GTS engine with accessories, belts, etc. I never wanted to sell that engine...had grand plans for it...but then again, I'm making so little progress on the multitude of projects on my list...so may be it's best that it goes to someone who will actually use it immediately. What do you guys think? What is an engine-less GTS worth? or what is the value of having a spare engine to the one in a $50k car? May be that would determine if it's a decent price forit.
