Default JDS tester group purchase for Bay area sharks?

I was thinking that this new JDS diagnostic tester would be a really cool thing to have around, but at $650 it's hard to justify. I was wondering if a bunch of us bay area/norcal people might be interested in going in on one. I figure we should be able to get enough people to make it around $50 each. Whomever would need it could just get it from the last person who used it, or we could use the mail. Probably we should just have Bill hold onto it since he is the amazing shark doctor that makes house call a the drop of a relay!!!
I would be happy to coordinate things, collect the contributions and buy it if people are interested. Mark

Bill could use two. One of them as a spare for when someone fogot to return it.

I'd hate to find out JDS has one for the earlier cars too. Wouldn't that blackbox kinda make RENNLIST obsolete?

Nah... won't happen. My fuel injection has no concept of electricity, let alone electronic diagnostics.

We bought one for the DFW area and it has already paid for itself twice over.
By the way it is called the "Spanner"

Mark:

Yes, I've got one for loan. Won't work on 87 unless you have an 88+ LH or updated eprom available from JDS.

Hi Randy,
I decided not to make a big splash with the "Spanner"... I think the best advert is happy cutomers.

Regular visitors to my web site soon found the tester when it appeared late last year.

I've now sold about 25. I am still offering it at the introductory discount price of 595 USD delivered.

It's had a good reception. I need to sell 100 to recover my development costs.

Sharkskin,
Sorry, I'm not enough of a magician to make a diagnostic tester for pre-87 cars :-)

Bill,
I suppose one would need to get the square adapter as well? M

John,
How much longer are you going to offer the introductory discount price? I want one, but I am short on funds at the moment.

Thanks

Hi Mike,
I will keep it low for a few more weeks, as sales are nice and steady at present.

John - Lets say a bloke decided to remove any traces of the LH and EZK system, but has decided to obviously keep the Digital Dash in the 89.

Is there a way to still get in there to play with the digital dash?
I plan to have a fully working dash, as I think AEM will let me put whatever output I need into the dash to get MPG and miles to empty (what was that again? You said what it was when you corrected me from pulse width)

Hi Bendan,
I would have to check again, but I must have stated that the consumption signal form the LH would be used (in conjuction with the existing road speed signal) to get mpg etc.

I assume AEM is a aftermarket fuel/spark box ? Does it has a suitable signal ?

Sounds like this should be a new thread topic...

Yeah John. I didn't want to hijack. Just wanted to get back into the discussion publically since I find the archives invaluable.

AEM is aftermarket fuel, spark, all encompassing control. I think I have all kinds of options for output.
