Default Anyone SC'd an 84-85 Euro yet?

I'm trying to get caught up on this topic, but it seems that 928supermodel isn't talking about it anymore (LH Euros) and neither is 928motorsports! Anyone done one, working on one, have a kit, etc??

Thanks,

Jason Butler

Jason;
I can't help you on your SC question, but would venture that the higher compression ratio of the 85 Euro would make it more challenging that some other models. Just an educated guess...no direct knowledge here.

I did want to welcome you as another Euro owner to the Board. There is a thread floating out there in the archives that is trying to keep track of all the Euro cars in service. If you get a chance, find it and add yourself to the count!

I have spoken to a couple of people here in England who have s/c S2s. Neither had been able to get the car to run properly or safely...

If one were to use a 5 Litre block from 85-86US on the Euro... would that lower the compression ratio?

I'm not a core engine guy, but I thought the block was virtually the same...main diference is the head design and cam profile and crank stroke between these engines. Major difference would be head, cam and pistons (if actually different).

Probably better for someone else to comment on these questions...

Okay, i found a thread... I should've looked first.

Bases on the info given. Lag calculated the CR with the 85-86US bottom end to be 10.25 static, and 8.21 static w/the S4 bottom end.

Porsche's stated CR for the S2 is the same as the GTS and barely above the S4/GT and US S3 engines.

And since Andy has already boosted a GTS, it seems like it should be possible...
It's all about the fueling, not the SC hardware and plumbing.

I think cam timing also has a part...
