Nice work Jeff.

I've done some autobody and its definately an art getting it right. A coat of primer and a bright light running down the side of the panels will give you a heads up on high and low spots that need filling over the main filler job.

Good Luck!

Man I just got off the phone with the bodyman who called ME to tell me about the fender they trimmed out with the new paint. He was very excited hahaha He said "we trimmed out the fender with the color we mixed up and man let me tell you it looks bad as $hit" Which got me excited hahaha. He made a deeper burgundy with FINER metal flake to really make it shine. And hasnt put the red over it yet. So I'll get a couple of pics this weekend. He also said the painter is all jazzed up to do this because they only usually do stock repairs on ALL euro cars. So apperently letting him run with his own ideas is going to produce something from a mind with a lot of pinned up creativity hahahha I cant wait to see this $hit.

Warren 928 Thanks for the compliment. I took bodywork in vocational schol and I still suck at it...... I really wish I could do it all myself but I never could get the hang of it (always end up sanding off too much material) I CAN paint though But there again.......am I gonna do it or is this guy...who is better, faster and sure of himself hahaha. With the cost of this paint $650 a gallon mixed I just cant afford to be "da man" Though it would be great to say "I did it all" I'll just stick to the labor work and learn about the good stuff hahaha

Ok just got back and we really got a lot done this weekend. We removed all the door and window trims, all the weather stripping, and all the glass is now gone minus the windshield. The quarters are almost done, the doors are ready to fill prime. and all the evidence from the side mouldings is gone. I got some stuff to detail the fender wells (next weekend) and started on the interior. Its almost ready to paint fellas. I got the fenders trimmed out with the code paint (stock) to see if I wanted to go back to stock.....not sure yet.
Hope you enjoy the pics.

Here are some of the finished things

All the side moulding is now history This would be a real easy job if you could match the paint. There reall wasnt much to it.

It should fit just fine, but you'll have some work to do if you're planning on using the older-style spoiler instead of the rear wing. I believe the window trim pieces are different, too.

Thanks Big Dave No.... I bought an s4 glass spoiler last week and was hoping to avoid the trim and knotch cut out for the mounting bolts. If I could avoid all of that in 1 shot I think it may be worth $450. He said there has never been a wing or spoiler mounted to it.

Man we had another great weekend and got a ton done. Great news is that everything that has to be pulled off is....and there is absolutely ZERO rust on the car anywhere. All of the Bodywork is done except a final skim on the passenger side quarterpanel. It all goes to the paint booth to get trimmed with the new color (I screwed the pooch on this one) I decided that a candy color would be impossible to touch up if someone hit it so that was that. We're going with the 2004 Carrera GT silver.....it will still be a porsche color and I got a sample of it and it is really nice. So all the work as far as trimming it out with the burgundy was wasted and a full color change requires a few more parts to come off. hahaha Doors bumpers ect. All the stuff I cought slack for in that one thread haha. But We want to do it right.

So I started with power washing the fender wells and quarter wells. BCDAVIS gave em a good idea to do this while it was apart. Thanks for the idea. It was a pretty dramatic change. It doesnt look as good as Andrew Olsons finished product in his "upskirt shots" But stii a big difference.
