Never seen one of those before, must be a US only model. Looks like one car landed on top of another.

The problem with iconic Italian cars of the past is grown up people don‘t fit in it!

I've been partial to my XX8 GT without rub rails for some time...

Has its original wheels back on it and Black over Black is sooooo sweet on a 928!

It has a paywall. My only question is, is there a 928 on the list, and if so, in what spot? (I guess that's 2 questions). If there is no 928 on the list, then it is a fundamentally defective list and not worth even the free part of the click. So do you know the answer?

I think the shape of the 928 is timeless, in the same club as the Jag E-Type and Lamborghini Miura. Just a beautifully carved block of automotive art.

N American Pontiac (General Motors). It always gets attention. To me, I see a neo-cyber future industrial type design influence, especially these Azteks in Yellow.

PS to make this 928 related, the battery setup is similar in that there is a sort of 'hot post' in the engine bay with the battery being 'buried' down quite far below. Not an easy battery to remove nor is the 928 imho.

This pic ^^ shows how timeless & modern the 928 is. That could be in a showroom today and look better than anything else from Porsche. (this car would look great in a fall scene place)

Any more pics of azteks and this thread may self-destruct

These seats would look nice in that GTS

The mercedes CL is maybe the best design from mercedes. (this thing had a lot of crazy engine choices including a TT V12) That no pillar design is sleek.

Default My 928s

Took my car out yesterday in the Rockwall area.
Both times the kids just couldn't stop staring at it
I have always loved the look of the 928s with the subtle front and back black spoilers (no rub strips) ever since I first saw them on the Autobahn in 1985 in Germany. Mine had to be Guards Red (aka Indischrot) with tan leather interior.
One of my all time dream cars and have had mine for going on 8 yrs now, still only 76k miles.

But the quality of a 928 interior is far from superior to much of anything. Warped dashes, center consoles, stitching on the steering wheels etc.... Porsche did a lot of things well in the 70's and 80's but interior quality was not one of them. None of my Audi's, even those that sat outside most of their lives with over 200k miles on them, don't have interiors that look as bad as your typical 928.
The number of cracks in the dash of my 78 is appalling. The 1983 Mercedes sitting next to it with triple the miles looks like new.

For a Porsche, the 928 was lightyears ahead when it comes to interiors. But the bar was pretty low considering the inside of a 70's 911 or 914.

A friend of mine has a similar period Rolls Royce, now that is an unbelievable interior. Few houses have leather seats that nice.
Did the interiors get better in the 90's?

My 993 is 28 years old and there is no wear, no cracks and it's almost like brand spankin' new. Same story with my friends 1995 and another friend's 964. I only have minor wear on the driver's seat edge.

I have seen many 993's and never seen a bad, worn out interior. But I 100% agree that old Mercedes interiors are superb quality. Esp. W140, R129.

And about the Jag E-Type.

Sure the Mark I coupe is amazing looker. Deserves its reputation as the most beautiful car ever made (sure it's subjective but it's up there).

But Mark II and Mark III coupes got f*cked badly. The roofline is awful. What was Jag thinking?

That's a good looking car but I dislike the double rounded headlights of that era MB's. The twin turbo V12 AMG 65 is a crazy car though. Absolutely insane.

I prefer the current S Coupe. That's one of the very few new cars (along with Jaguar F-type) which actually looks fantastic.

AMG GT is also very good looking car and it has a lot of 928 resemblance on the back.

Mercedes has a lot of great looking cars in the history. Pagoda and C126 (SEC) are also pretty remarkable and timeless designs.
