The Most Beautiful Car Ever Made

That's a good looking car but I dislike the double rounded headlights of that era MB's. The twin turbo V12 AMG 65 is a crazy car though. Absolutely insane.
I prefer the current S Coupe. That's one of the very few new cars (along with Jaguar F-type) which actually looks fantastic.
AMG GT is also very good looking car and it has a lot of 928 resemblance on the back.
Mercedes has a lot of great looking cars in the history. Pagoda and C126 (SEC) are also pretty remarkable and timeless designs.

BUT compare this against the new one you posted. (the above one is a little too busy and wedgy for me) This 2004 CL is Big, Sleek, and understated and yet it just says "money". It would make a great garage mate for a 928. The headlights impart nice lines to the hood. I never liked greenhouse style headlight clusters, the ugliest being on the 360.

This thread is still going strong, so some other cars that I think have beautiful lines.
Toyota 2000GT, yum
The newer Panamera has become quite nice looking, but not a classic IMO. This thing though will give me night sweats for a long time.
I love that wagon. I love the RS6, as well, but I don't think it falls into the beautiful category, sharp looking though it is.
Cheers

The Lancia just looks so purposeful; I love it, good call.

That Aston is a beauty. The same guy (Ian Callum) designed the Jaguar XK-R.
I love this car. It's not that much different from a 928. Rear wheel drive, big V8, automatic, leather interior. Good old fashioned GT.
And since this thread changed from "most beautiful car ever made" to "list some beautiful cars"... well... I list these.
The F-Type ain't bad, either. It's actually quite compact unlike the new 911's. The 600 hp with rear wheel drive was just too much and the new ones are AWD. No stick shift for the powerful models unfortunately.

1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Special Lightweight - This is the car that NART raced at LeMans and finished 3rd in class and 5th overall. It was owned by a friend's father and campaigned in SCCA and historic races in the 70's.
I think it is simply beautiful and when you open the hood and see those six 2bbl Webbers your heart skips a beat...
Here it is again properly restored in 2010 at the Cavallino at the Breakers in Palm Beach with my friend and I checking it out...
And you think you regret selling a classic! This was sold for $10,000 sometime in the late 70's. $18 million in 2021...
"I highly suggest you acquire one if you have the means" Ferris Bueller...

Here is my take on highly executed pencil lines... Some are notorious POS , well the Jag is. Like every British cars.. Beautiful finish touch (inside/out) but the rest is Mehhh. Lucas (electrical system is AKA: The Prince of Darkness)... Also have some wagon love.. (assumed sucker for wagons.. +/- 12 wagons so far and not done yet..)
Intentionally did not put any 928 for integrity issues.. Ü
So here we go..

I've found a better looking Jaguar, the XJ220. I see one every Saturday morning at the museum I work at. Yeah, some mechanical disappointments (especially compared to Wayne Dempsey's 959), but the design is sublime. Every museum visitor agrees it's the best looking car of the current "Radwood" exhibit. (No 928 on display, alas.)
(An oddity: the XJ220 is the only car on display with rub strips, but still ...)

Some of my favorites, in addition to the 2000GT shown above. Incidentally, both cars were featured in The Love Bug, which was one of my favorite movies as a kid:
Intermeccanica Apollo GT (IMO, basically a better looking rendition of the E Type design)
Lamborghini 400 GT:
