Default 1982 Barn Find 928S 5 speed

So I went to look at the barn find cars they were about 70 miles away from me,
I got Earl to go with me as one of the cars used to be his.

Anyhoo, when we got to the country it was evident these cars had all been sitting for a long period.
they all had mold in them and they all looked like they were nice cars at one time.

On my way out the door, I had a last look at the black car it had nice 911 seats in it and the dash and console looked nice.
It made me think on the long ride home..

I had originally gone to see these cars with the intention of buying all 3,
once I saw the grass seed and the mold it was pretty much over. parts cars.

Ok so the long and short of it was I was ready to accept the challenge of fixing the black car,
I called Jim and told him I wanted to save the black car.
After a few more texts we made the deal and so we are off.

Default A new reason to check this forum every day!

Swapped out the D90 wheels already?

The old girl "washed up good!"

I'm confused about one thing Stan - were the D90's on one side, and flat dish on the other side? Or are there two different black cars?

Amazingly how nice black metallic looks after a wash. Much prefer the metallic sheen over the flat black.
You are a smart man and saved me from buying it myself (would've continue to watch it grow more mold for my garden!).
The seats/interior/paint make the car so worth the saving.

Great to see your family welcoming your bringing the next orphaned child/adventure home :-). Please tell your folks I say hi.

Now do your magic Stan the Man!

Hi Stan. The seats in the car are factory option sport seats. Mine has the same option. The rears match the front in design and no rear storage console. Very rare. Those front seats are all manual and very lightweight compared to power seats.

It will be a nice save! That was the one I would have bought if I wasn’t already inundated with 928’s. Looking forward to watching the progress!

I think the window being stuck in the halfway down position saved this from the mold that took over the other two cars

Hoping it goes easier than you were thinking. A hose down and a wipe of the interior looks like big progress already.
