Default Got a 992.2 allocation

I went to a dealership May 25th, got on the waitlist for a base carrera and got an allocation for a 992.2 base carrera yesterday (06/03). Dealership initially said it would take like 18-24 months. Is this normal? If I go by previous posts in rennlist, people are mentioning a long wait a long time to get an allocation, or is it the case that getting a base allocation is almost no waiting.

Congrats! I, too, got an allocation. I put my deposit down in April, so yeah, there's not much waiting. I'm told it'll be ready around September. I submitted my build code, and I'm waiting for the lock date. I'm going IGM. I wanted to try shade green metallic, but I haven't been able to see the color on a car, and I'm afraid of disliking it in person.

Congrats! As its pretty new, probably people want to wait for reviews to come out, so not a lot of folks in line to buy one I guess at the moment. Good for us I guess

What's the order freeze date? This is the date where no changes can be made to the order prior to production starting.
This date for a new allocation is usually 3-4 weeks before the build starts.
Once the build starts, you can figure out roughly when you take delivery...(best case scenario without port, material, labor or weather delays...7-10 days to build, 2 days to get to Emden port and 3-5 weeks for east coast or west coast delivery.)

Havn't got that date yet, just got the commission number and something which says 'Your purchase order has been confirmed'.

Yes, PDK is what is available.

My freeze date is June 25th. And yes, PDK. I've driven manual 911s and PDKs in the past. The PDKs are great for me; my wife can't drive a manual anyway. It makes things easier if she can drive the car, too.

I have the same dilemma, I have seen pictures of the Dakar with Shade Green, but I feel it will not be the same in person, still unable to imagine it on a GTS.

I have submitted my build also, waiting on the lock date, however the build is in October and delivery around December or January.

Sounds like a V070 code which is a demand order. That just means the dealer made the request. It's not an actual allocated build and there is no guarantee. That said - on a base Carrera you should be able to ultimately get a car without too much drama.

If your build sheet says v200, then congrats - it's the real thing.

are you sure. I thought when it says build order is confirmed that there is a slot already and not an order demand .

You could be right. I just go by v-code. There seems to be a lot of imprecision in the way these allocations are described by dealers, etc. There is no disputing a v200.

Love that shade green color! Reminds of the old ice green metallic used on the G bodies in the late 1970s

Not the real deal until you have a Commission Number.
Who has one yet?
