Unhappy OOPS - Boyfriend smoosh car!!!!!

It's a goner everyone. Week ago Sunday car get smooshed. Score: tree=1, car=0. It sucked getting the phone call "can you please come pick me up, I wrecked the car". Oh well, s**t happens. Spent 3 hours in the vineyards waiting for the tow truck - at least there was nice scenery. . .

Typical male driver...

(I assume it was your boyfriend who smooshed it.)

Eeek! And I complained because my wife put a couple of small pock marks in my front bumper cover.

The 87 still's OK, right?

Hope to see you soon -- Sharks in the Park - May 8th - word to go out in the next few days.

Beth,

Sorry to hear about the accident, hope he's ok.

It won't be long before you start getting emails asking about the left over
928 parts. Of course you may want to keep them all to use on your next
one

Beth. Look on the bright side, you don't need a divorce lawyer.

I see the door "rub strips" took the brunt of the hit eh? Good thing you had them on there!!

So much for my feeble attempt at levity......bummer about the car. It looks like it can be fixed though, The pillars look ok. Have you decided what you are gonna do yet?

Second the sentiments on losing the BF..............now.

Basically he just set up for a turn wrong, and we had just talked about how something not quite right with the brakes. I think he just had too much speed going in and the brakes didn't grab like they should.

We're not even going to contact insurance, not worth it. We only paid $1,750 for the car so if we part it out, we'll be well on our way to the next one. We're DEFINATELY getting another one.

The '87 is better than ever, and I don't think he'll be driving it any time soon. Oh man, if he had smooshed that car I'd be p*ss*d!!!

And thank God in a way the tree (s) were there. If we had ended up in the grapes we'd be buying alot of grape plants and paying a lot of laborers right now.

Sorry to hear that. Hope he's okay as well -

Edited: make a list of all the parts that are still good - price them out accordingly.

If the engine/drive train is intact - thats at least worth a couple of grand! If it has leather interior, thats a plus as well.

Good Luck - BTW if you go the 928OC board - click the Arizona forum link - there is a local cat selling his 83 5 spd - kind of pricy for an 83 but 16k has been invested into it - New engine rebuild and so forth - Good Luck!

It's not worth fixing. If we spend 5k, we'll about end up with the piece of junk we started with. Then it'll take another hunk of cash to do the interior and paint it. Screw it. We'll part this out and get a 5 speed.
