EZK ignition self tuning chip

I've got an 87 with a 928 motorsports stage 1 supercharger kit on it that has supposedly been shark tuned is there any reason why the car wouldn't be compatible with or benefit from this chip because of these previous modifications?

I think a denatured version with a higher retard limit and little to no advance could help fine tune a SharkTuned map.

Received my EZK-S chip and dropped it into my ECU yesterday. Ken programmed my EZK custom Sharktuner map into the chip as base.
Went for a short test drive today and WOW, I'm really impressed! After some heavy blinking action from the CEL, the engine feels more responsive. Spinning the tires at a traffic light is an easy task now.
Took my GTS to the highway, to give the chip a chance to learn some more and after a couple of blinks, you can really feel a difference.
The car feels like a GTS should be IMHO. Too bad, the factory was not even close.

To be fair, the original programming was good enough to to warranty back a lot of repairs by being to aggressive for component quality issues over time.
They knew they could do more, but at a cost.

I was able to get some miles in with the EZK-S in my GTS Auto with X-pipe. It’s having the same effect as on my S4. Better throttle response! Thanks Ken for helping to wake this car up. !

I used to fly competition two stroke RC helicopters in the late eighties and early nineties. They all had resonance exhausts to take full advantage of the oscillating gasses in the exhaust. Due to two stroke design a good resonator will increase power by up to 30 %. Only at one very small RPM band but the rotor is kept at one RPM in aerobatic mode.
Four stroke engines benefit from the same phenomenon but in the intake. If the intake length can be changed (e. g. via the flappy), the filling of each cylinder can be optimized, with the help of the oscillating air mass inside the intake.
This is how I make sense of of the Resonanzklappe.

Just got back from my second EZK-S tuning session.
The more I drive it, the more I love it! I'm really impressed with what the chip can achieve.
Ken programmed the EPROM with my custom and already optimized Sharktuned EZK-Map and with this as a base, I did not expect too much.... But![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)

The chip is not learning constantly. It will advance ignition timing for each individual cylinder for a one particular RPM and load. When it reaches the point of knocking, it'll retard ignition slightly and "label" it as the optimum point for this particular cylinder, RPM and load. After this is achieved, it'll leave this cylinder for this point alone (unless there is more knocking again) e. g. lower Octane fuel.
This is done over time while driving for all eight cylinders and load. Eventually the chip will have optimized the EZK over time completely. Initially the CEL will blink frequently while the engine is driven in different conditions showing that the chip is working. The more you drive, the less it'll blink indicating successful learning. After about half an hour of regular driving, you'll feel the difference.
So why a reset? If better fuel is available or a modifications have been done to the engine, a reset will start the process again an optimize the EZK.

No it will reset and revert to the standard EZK base map for your car. Disconnecting the battery is a hard reset and will erase the learned parameters. There is another option for a soft reset with the same results.

Hi All,
1991 S4 auto Japanese market car.
I have just had my car out for some WOT runs out in the countryside. Slow rolling and from stop Foot to the floor.
The car is pulling smoothly but isn’t getting near the 6200 rev limit, it is changing up at around 5500 to 5600. I’m unsure if this the chip still learning, or more to do with how my transmission is set up. I am suspicious about my flappy valve operation as I did the tape test the other day and didn’t see it turn on start up.
Talking to Roger about parts for in take refresh so it’ll get looked at then.
Thoughts on the 5600 rev shift point?
