Very, very cool!
My understanding is that it reacts instantly to poor fuel, however when fuel with a higher RON is added you need to reset the maps by turning the ignition on with the throttle pedal depressed (so the WOT switch is activated), before releasing and starting normally

There is an automatic mini-reset every time the car is started cold which will cap any learned retard but better to do a full reset manually in this case.
