Default Short cuts or Jimmy Rigged examples to share

So as I replaced my PS reservoir and suction lines, OEM lines.. etc, I came across how the PO "Jimmy Rigged" the lines coming from Reservoir with Plastic tubing and copper that caused it to leak.
Can you give some examples of short cuts that caused you money by correcting it due to it causing an issue?

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of it, but the PO after having the car stripped and repainted attached the convertible top frame to the fiberglass deck with drywall screws - no gasket, poor alignment (2" gap at the back of the windows), and drywall screws. I redid the whole thing using stainless fasteners with wide T-nuts and fender washers under the deck and realigned it so now the windows actually kind of seal up. Also had to add some locking fasteners for the side flaps of the top or the sides that were only held in place with some snaps and velcro would fly open at about 50 mph. Now they stay in place into triple digits with the top up whether the windows are up or down.

What else was Rigged - a lot. Bought the car disassembled in this condition with most of the parts in boxes inside. They're a lot harder to put together if you're not the one that took them apart and if it's your first one of that type of car.

Had lots of PO wiring done with non waterproof, non-insulated crimp connectors too, like this that I had to redo.

But this picture has to be right up there with the very "best".

Welding a tapered 28mm torque tube shaft to the coupler......with "bird turds".

So much wrong there, I've got nothing.

This is all important stuff, it all has to be exposed. Maybe the moderators could merge this thread and a former thread.
