Looks like we won't be coming in a 928 Took it for a test drive yesterday after replacing the transmission vacuum modulator hose and all was great. Today, tried backing the car out of the garage for a final wash and wax before the trip and now NO REVERSE! Acts like brakes are on and have to rev the engine to 3K to get it to move. Disconnected the vacuum hose and didn't make a difference. Slight whining noise and even acts like it wants to surge forward a little while in park. Whatever it is, doubt it will be fixed in time. So, make that 2 Jeeps that will be there.

Dang, It looks like the planners are going to need to consider some kind of four-by trail for one of the fun runs.

All you need to do is download Glympse to your phone from the Apple or Android/Google Play store and share with this tag !928Rendezvous (note the exclamation point!)
If you would set it up as "!Rendezvous928". We could us it on all future events.

As long as the committee comes up what it should be, before tomorrow, and in fewer than 15 posts.

Rendezvous 928
"Sharks in the Badlands"
is the event name.
Rendezvous 928 is a entity of it's own.
Harvey Carlisle is hosting this year's event and has been the driving force and behind "Sharks in the Badlands"
The committee has decided

Default Big thanks to Sean Ratts - 928Docs

Car made a major jump to completion today for the trip thanks to Sean getting me straight on the harness and found another burnt wire loom section under the coil. I never would have seen that. Some pics of the completed work.

LOL. Jerry you didn’t drive the F250 to a Shark event did you?

That involved three naps of 30 to 40 minutes toward the end to help keep me from going to sleep at the wheel. Of course it took me two days to get back to normal.

It does, but it'd be lame bringing it and not being able to drive it. I won't lie, today was a punch to the gut. I'm dropping the pan in the morning and taking a look. But with my lack of transmission knowledge, unless there's a big on/off switch in there or something, I don't see it making it.

Man, the 928 gods are not being very nice. My a/c decided to stop working today. At least it won’t stop me, but it gets old rolling down the highway with the windows open. Seems to be an electrical connection problem. The a/c went off then on a couple of times and stopped working.

Actually, Darien, I have been to more Shark events in my F250 than I have been in a shark; I suppose notwithstanding the times I had both there having hauled a 928 in my trailer. Your Comrade, Sean, even took me to task about one of them in the other thread about this kind of event.

Default Trailer is loaded

I have made the initial load of the 20' trailer.

Spare S4 engine, porken lift bars, low profile jack, jack stands, tools (several sets) spare brake pads, some new rotors, lots of fuses, relays, and other items. air compressor and tools, hose, etc. several tubs filled with misc items. brake fluid, oil, differential oil, etc.

This will be at the event tuesday night. The car trailer will be there Thursday evening. If anyone breaks down, I will have a trailer and truck available to go get them and get them to the hotel at least.

I will be at the hotel starting Thursday afternoon thru monday morning.

PM me if you need my cell phone.

Harvey Be safe and see everyone soon.

P.S. I spent 45 minutes on the phone the other day with a reporter from the local newspaper (Rapid City Journal) and they are going to run a story on the event.
