Not alarmingly so, but enough I don't want to take it on a long trip to the middle of no where and have a tech session on the road. Also, on edit, hit a bump and some ground on a corner flaked out and got an ABS/Brake pad warning, easy find i'm sure, but screw it. Apparently it does not like sitting as long as I've let it. A new jeep sounds like a fun ride.
A new Jeep on a thousand mile ride sounds like a beating to me.

Heading out Wednesday using Harvey’s recommended route up through Sioux City to Sioux Falls then I-90 to Rapid City arriving Thursday.

Still undecided where to stop Wed night but will rendezvous with Popo928. Let me know if anyone will be in the area for caravan in on Thursday

PS, I’m driving the Shark

Anyone from Michigan want to play on the northern route?

Or coming from the northeast?

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

If I take a northern route and don't meet up with Steve in Minneapolis... Hmmmmm... Nope, that ain't gonna happen, 911 user look out! I'm sticking to the plan!

65 it isn't, and Wisconsin can suck eggs if I'm gonna go 65!

Kowabunga!
That's an old Map. The highway 43 70mph law was passed in 2015. If I'm not in a hurry I set the cruise at 80 when heading to Milwaukee.

Highways with cross traffic are still 65mph though, and there's a few of them.

Default SD is 80 MPH on most interstate roads

South Dakota is mostly 80 MPH on interstate roads. Plus the Corvette rally held the same weekend as ours was cancelled this year.

For those traveling west on I 90, if you want to see my small town of 9 people take exit 143 and take highway 73 towards Philip SD, Then when get almost thru town take a left onto highway 14. Go about 13 miles and the small town of Cottonwood will be on your right. It is about a mile after the rail road tracks. Take the second dirt road into town (main Street) and go slow. Roads are gravel. After you go over the railroad track take the first left (C Street) and follow it, it will curve into 2nd ave and moms house will be on the left. There will be a sign up welcoming people to Sharks in the Badlands at my mothers house. She is 87 and looking forward to sharing a beer / drink / fireball or water with anyone that stops by. If you go through town stop and knock on the door, or she will be outside with a cooler with drinks for people (where the sign will be over the garage door) and say hello. It is only about a 30 minute total detour. Mom's name is Mattie.

See everyone soon.

Harvey

Heading out on Wednesday, my 86.5 (gold) shark is running great, and with ambient temps around 85 to 90 F she's reading just above the first line, ran about a 1/2 tank of fuel and all good.
However the AC is not blowing cold (Rear is around 70 so somewhat cooler) front was 80. Both expansion valves and the drier replaced last summer, had same issue then, have new compressor, hoses and ordered new drier and an expansion valve for the front (just for kicks Also I verified everything under the dash was working last year when I repaired the Heater Core. I'm thinking the compressor is just worn out.
Going to have at it again this Saturday, replacing the compressor w/ hoses and drier and front e valve, if that doesn't do it, I'm driving my Grand Cherokee and considering trailering our Harley's.

Roll the windows down and open the top. It ain't that bad and the sweat will evaporate and keep you a bit cooler. Evaporation is a cooing process.
I was driving my 82 around in the 90s w/o AC and it wasn't bad. I did get my guy to find the leak and fill with 134a and now it is nice and cold. Going to be a great trip

I am getting a real late start this year. Need to do PS line, timing belt, and an AC install....

May end up trying to service the white care instead.... or just grabbing a rental. We will see, but I will definitely be there.

See you guys next week!

Hans
