Pit Crew on stand-by
I am bringing an enclosed trailer 8' by 20' that I am putting my spare S4 engine in, as well as tools, jack stands, creeper, low profile jack, and some spare parts. Plus a grill, coolers, and some other stuff. I want this to be a great event and if someone has issues hopefully we can help fix it. Just wanted to help ease peoples minds a little. Let me know if there is something specific that you might need and I will put it in the trailer.
Thanks

Well I won't be making this trip after all. My girlfriend is having surgery and will be in the middle of recovery during the trip. Canceled my reservation today if anyone needs a room.

Best regards Jim
Family and loved ones take priority over everything else. Let her know we are praying for a speedy, yet safe recovery. See you later on.

I just made my reservation and registration for the event. I plan to come in my 89 S4 5-speed, but I really need to change the timing belt and WP before the event. I'll try to work that in with my efforts on the early belly pan project which is at the stage of trying to form one. Maybe I'll have something for show and tell. I'll probably bring a few of my Cowl Covers and Spare Tire covers. Also, I'll bring my device to separate the gas caps and replace the Pawls, since I had a of of fun at SF19 with that program. Maybe I'll even bring one or two of the Tap Kits to see if we can figure out how best to remove anyone's frozen plug. I think it is going to be a lot of fun in all respects.

Glad you are coming Jerry.
If you have not made your room reservations, or registered for the event, please do. Room reservations (at least our discounted rate expire June 17th). We are asking people to register so we know how many buses we might need and the number of T Shirts we need to make.

I am working on the shirt art. It will be something unique, and like the first Rendezvous shirts, more of a refined design than most of our event shirts. It will be discharge printed on a premium Bella Canvas or Next Level shift blank (depends on what has the best color match when I get closer).
Hopefully have proofs to share this week, but do get your size info in so I can get things setup with the printer if you can. I will make some extras, but we sold out of the first Rendezvous shirts, so I expect any spares will go quickly.
I have been asked by some of the event organizers to keep shirt art as a surprise this year. So no peeking until Friday night at the hotel.

Yikes, the hotel is all booked up! Any suggestions on alternatives?
Update, I changed the dates to arrive Friday and check out Sunday and I was able to grab a room. Registered!

The hotel has plenty of rooms. I just talked to them. When using the link it is set for Friday & Saturday night only. If you need other days just call the hotel and they will honor the rate for additional days, but they have to put it in the system.

I want to clarify something for everyone.
When we started looking at how to pay for this event we assumed the worse and that we would not get support from anyone. So a decision was made to charge for the event (per person) and for each item (shirt, bus trip).
We have recently received word that the 928 Owners Club is contributing to the event, and now people are asking why we ( the participant) are paying for something that the Owners club is paying for. Let me be perfectly clear I, nor people helping me are in this for any financial gain. This is an event to get people to come to the midwest and enjoy themselves. We are looking at ways the money over the cost of the event, can be used to help offset some additional costs to you the participants. (ie possibly paying for the parking at Mt Rushmore, or entrance into one of the State Parks). Once we have the total costs figured out we will make a decision that we feel is best for everyone. This is the second 928 Rendezvous event and we are still working out how to handle things. It takes a lot of effort and time to coordinate things, and get things into place. Our goal is not to have the host person (people) go into debt to host these events.
That is why we need people to register. One of the big factors is the possibility of having to rent a second bus for the Saturday night event. So please be sure to let us know whether you want to take the bus trip or not. Number of shirts and sizes are another item we need to know as well.
So come enjoy this event and relax. Hopefully next years event we will know well in advance whether we even ask for support, or whether it is approved before you get very close to the event.
Thanks for being understanding.

As a more lighter note. The young lady that is helping out is also a cosmetologist, so if you need your hair done, she might be able to get you in. Sean Ratts this mean you too.....

@Harvey928 - THANK YOU for conceiving the event, having the fortitude to plan something special plus invite us all to your neck of the woods and expanding this with support from folks like @RSMartin into a 2nd Edition of the 928 Rendezvous.
If you're on the fence and don't see why you should spend $25 - $75 bucks to make this thing run smooth, I'd genuinely suggest you not come. Of course, that's just my opinion.
Last year's Rendezvous was EPIC and I'm sure this one will be very memorable. In fact, every 928 event I've been to has been memorable.
I am very grateful for this event and the 2 weeks of behind the wheel time it is going to afford me.
BTW - my T-Shirt size is XXL. Cheers!
