Default How fast have you driven your shark?

After 6 months of ownership. I finally took the shark out to a long isolated stretch of desert road and hit 120 mph.

It was too windy to go to 150 mph so I backed off for now.

Whats the fastest you had your shark?
Was it on track or normal roads?

Legaly? 70 mph.

Illegaly? 139 on a slight uphill slope. That was as fast as the car would go. I figure thats not bad for a 20 year old car, going slightly uphill.

Your Honour!

I refuse to answer, under the grounds that it might incriminate me.

Or worse, bring Ed & Nicole into the conversation!!

Without admitting fault -

150 or 155 in my shark and just the other day, 151 on my F3.

Legal disclaimer - Obey the speed limits, street racing is wrong and dangerous - take it to the track. ( I need to keep reminding mysef this)

Happy Thanksgiving

168.6 on the GPS, 173 indicated on the digital and analog speedometer
(nice feature on the 90s). That's with a stock engine, with only RMB and
Nology plug wires. Sorry, but I'm not running a K&N filter.

Saw around 150mph on the speedometer in the 928S.

About 175mph on the speedometer on the TL1000R.

Deserted roads at about 3:00am. Neither verified via gps or radar, so the actual speeds may be off some.

I have it to about 150. I regularly take it to 140mph though. There is a HUGE difference once you get above 140 or so. It is a pretty big mental commitment for me to take it any faster on public roads. Most racetracks don't even have enough room for a 928 to top out either. Even starting with a 90mph head start coming out of turn 10 in Brainerd, I only hit 130 or so on the mile long straight. I always found that strange as I ran a 104 mph quarter mile with the car. It takes a lot to push them above 100.

Legally in the Gambler's Run open road race I was cruising at 161 indicated. Electronically timed average speed for 1/4 mile trap was 158.4. This is my stock 89 S4 daily driver, crusing comfortably, A/C on (95F outside, but I was comfy despite my racing suit). Not floored. Smooth and stable.

George Suennen is away, so I will report for him that he was trap timed at 163 in his 90 S4 (essentially stock) in the same race.
