    IT doesn't have a spring.

    It uses a screw. You have to tighten the screw untill the belt is at the proper tention. If you tighten it too much, things break. If you don't tighten it enough, the belts skips a tooth, and things break.

    You need to get the tension meter tool. I belive they're avalible from 928 International. It's a simple little tool that lets you check the tension of the timing belt, and then adjust it to the right amount.

    Hey my name is andrew and im new to the porsche world..... i have a 83 928s and im doing a TB and i cant get the tensioner to work for me. i have it on but cant get it to pop out and hold tension. can you please help. im in dallas and my number is 940 390 5677
