Interesting Matti. Thanks for sharing. With an angle grinder would you use a non-metal cutting disk?

Woke up early & drove to an event. 3.5 hours on the road. Half of that in the rain, sometime extreme rain, and half the time in the sun. Wilson just motors right along. Sometimes the truck tire grooves in the road really want to pull him and force him around... really got to keep both hands on the wheel with this de-powered steering. I love this car. Oh, also decided to put the visors back on. So nice.

REMEMBERING "OL' WILSON". A couple of random pics from 3 years ago.

Heck, this factory built 1988 944 changed my life. This was an incredible hiway touring car.

Ol' Wilson capture my heart in a single bound. The pitch black winter evening that I test drove him excited me so much. "Take him for a spin. Just be back in half an hour." the seller said. So I took the keys. Don't have to tell me twice! It was icy out... and so dark I needed a flashlight. I came back for the drive & made I deal.

This was going to be an adventure. Wilson said "take me home, the future is unwritten".

No clue
Just anything is better than dremel.
For high end stuff one could ask them to be water cutted etc. No debris and heat...?

Hey Matti, a guy from work says use a jigsaw blade. Hmmm, maybe I will try.

But for now:

-3 weekends of Autocross events coming up. Starting this weekend. Getting PUMPED.
-Car has been getting some night usage later (since the season makes the sun go down earlier)...
my report on the Hella ECode lights with upgraded German 60/55 bulbs: GOOD.
-The car starts & runs better than it has for 2 years. Still when I stomp on it there is a bit of a sulpher or exhaust smell that enters the cab, but then again it did that when it was a fully carpeted stock exhaust car also. Would like to know where it comes in... perhaps the hatch because it still isn't sealed that well.
-Focus is on interior upgrades like the pass side door window going up & down with a belt. Then make some door cards. The some interior & under hood lights.

Met a dude selling parts last night, he did an excellent job swapping in a 2.5 turbo into an S model. I drove him around a bit because he's never driven a 944 before.

He has a BUNCH of 944 parts, offered me a killer deal. Including a turbo bumper complete less the "batwing". Considering it.

Should I keep the NA look or go turbo look?

I know you're not even close to me, but I have a white turbo bumper and the aluminum support bracket just chilling in my back yard. Was going to do the swap but I'd rather get a Euro NA front. I haven't officially listed the bumper for sale but for the right price...

Yeah the euro bumpers are sick bro! Anyone know which is more aero or lighter? NA or turbo fronts?

Not sure, the bumper cover + bracket probably weigh 50lbs together, it's been a while since I messed with them though. and I remember the NA front bumper being heavier than I expected as well. There's a guy I saw on 924board (username raceboy) who had some sort bumper from a different car that he somehow fitted. Not my personal taste but it looks aerodynamic and he said it weighs a lot less than stock.

Been aligning for today for a week. Couldn't get much done, so hustled harder and harder everyday; waking up earlier & earlier so that I can have both weekend days FREE. This morning 4:00 am wake up. Hit the road jack at 6:00.

I begged & borrowed & pleaded for a ride in this Lotus with a champion auto-crosser. Whoa!! that was a fast combination!! I felt like puking after (kind off). So inspiring. This car is 220 hp & weighs 2000lbs. I really liked it, but damn it's hard to get in & out of!! LOOK at that rear diffusser. The whole under belly is totally smooth. It's as pretty underneath as it is on top! I can die happy now

Yesterday was practise & today was official recorded times. My friend pulled up with his american stock car converted to neutral steering. Sounded awesome.
