Here is the thread on the shifter mod:

It's definitely one of the best things I have done to my car to date. Combined with the Only944 short shift kit it makes the car a blast to drive.

I have a really great gas pedal that's great for heel-toe, I believe the brand is Tilton.
I talked to Joel and the pedal was custom made...You need to post pics of it, the 944 world needs to know of it....It's the best gas pedal I've ever had the privilege of mashing. Makes heel toe driving very easy and convenient. It's a must. You can barely roll your heel while braking and blip! Your rev is there. I need to make a repro.

Autothority chip for much "better" low-rev torque characterstics.
Sad they apparently are out of business but other chip tuners' products surely make these cars "better" drivers..

Can't imagine what a MAF conversion would do on top of it for driveability.

I just got around to installing my na-tune yesterday.

World of difference. Truly impressive is all I can say. Runs smoother, changes gear faster, pulls harder at any throttle position.

Get one. I plan to dyno again next week to quantify the maf improvement.

Wheels and tires upgrade, brake upgrades (rotors/pads/lines), and exhaust.

Agreed, the pedal alone makes michael's car the most fun N/A I've ever driven by a long shot. Cale, if you ever get around to making repros, count me in to buy one.

+1 I've had the maf kit in the car for about 3 weeks now, and the difference is simply incredible throughout the entire rpm range.
Add a throttle cam, a nice exhaust, and lower the suspension 1 inch makes the car simply beautiful to drive.

Since I already have the short shift kit in the rear of the car, would it be too much to add the front one as well?

It would be overkill since the one mfr'd by only944.com reduced throw by 30% in all axis. I've heard other technical arguments against it as well but can't recall the specifics. For me, I just love mine.

I also added 17" Cayman wheels w/BFG G-force radials of proper diameter. Great tires for Florida downpours where the pavement disappears. Thinking about stiffer and shorter springs for better handling and ride. Also saving for the NA-Tune.

I installed both items from only944.com and it works great. I used the lower stock position on the rear shifter. Very happy with how positive the shifter is now.

Saving up for the NA-Tune! 10 percent claims usually?
