Default Not a faster car, but a better car

Hey Guys,

I wanted to get a thread going on not necessarily mentioning parts that make NAs and turbos faster, but rather talk about and mention parts that have made owning a 944 a better experience. Not that I mean I love owning it anyway!

Pretty much parts that improve the cars longevity, ride quality (i guess this can go under performance suspension mods), and anything else that you can think of that made you love your 944 more than you already did!

Please share with everyone! Wouldnt we all want to keep our machines for as long as possible?

A short list of tiny mods that put a huge smile on my face:

Filling the stock tranny mount with 3m window weld

Cutting down my stock shifter
Big *** custom strut brace
Aluminum flywheel
2 dollar cup holder from walmart that sits on the window sill

Coilovers

Headlight relay harness made me actually ENJOY driving my car at night rather than it being a semi-terrifying experience.
I use some cheap advance auto headlights and its almost too bright.

The shifter linkage bearing/bolt mod along with the short shifter from only944 made my shifts feel worlds better, no more flopping around while turning either.

- Turbo sway bars

You're damn right that was a great mod! They were $1.50 for 5 or something...

I have a really great gas pedal that's great for heel-toe, I believe the brand is Tilton. Combined with the throttle cam and a lightened crank, revs up fast

AC delete of course... do I need a reason?

Lastly, adding a second set of tail lights.

No filling the mount is to stiffen the shifts up and make gear engagement much more positive feeling. You'll also never snap a cv bolt again, which can be an issue in turbo and v8 cars.

Also, I love my turbo twist wheels sooooo much more than I thought I would, and it isn't a vanity thing though they do look nice.
Traction is a beautiful thing.

I love the taillight mod, did it on mine as soon as I found out about it!
For a NA i think 225 in the rear is plenty of traction for it?

1. Motul 100% syntetic oil...not exactly cheap(about $200 for an oil change)..but surely it makes the engine and turbo live alot longer.
2. Porsche Exclusive Option steering wheel (very rare, see picture below)
3. 924 Carrera GT ECU (DITC) mainly more low end grunt but more top end too.
4. M030 brakes (nice feel, nice stopping power)
5. Continental Conti Sport 3 tires...best tires i've ever had..perfect balance !

I did...i have custom built coilovers that use the OEM shocks but stiffer springs.
Its still confy on most roads but more stable and firm.
The stiffer springs go together with 968 sway bars.
This does not necesarily make the car better...i was happy with it before...it just makes it faster i guess.

Agreed on installing a really good audio system. Mine's tuned to the point where i tuned the soundstreem 4x6s in the doors to act as a mid bass and highs to work perfectly with the 10" sub with a crossover & time alignment.

Oh and a huge huge turbo..
