oh, and details...hmmm, well third gear is very fast, fourth is almost as fast, and fifth pulls about as hard as third gear did with the old engine......that should give you a gauge of the torque in this motor (oh and that's from 1400 rpm.)
i'm using the stock 944 cooling system, probably about 50/50 coolant to water, car doesn't go above about 190...i took the thermostat out of the water pump, because i had a huge air bubble that was difficult to get out, plus it runs cooler without it, which is needed in july around here.
i pulled the cheap 1.6 rockers i had and put the 1.5's back in...the 1.6's were flexing and shimmying off of the valves, not good! Because of this i think the car's running a little rich, because i get some backfire if i rev up to 3-4k and then drop of quickly...need to figure that out.
all of those people that say you have to drive one to really decide whether you like it or not are right...before friday night i had never driven a swapped car before, and holy hell it's unbelievable!!! The low end torque is unchained and ferocious, i can put the car in second and let the clutch out slowly with no gas and it will go!!! (<-probably not good for the clutch, won't be doing that much!)
wow...

hey...what can i say, it's a work in progress that my friend and i did in our spare time over a week...i have some plans for breaking up the surfaces to help it blend in more...but for now it's form following function, its sole purpose is to protect the engine from the elements, looks are secondary.
as for paint, i'm going to be taking it down to bare metal/primer soon, it will probably stay primer for a while, because i don't have enough money for a paintjob
thanks for the advice and compliments!!

if you take it down to primer then leave it i would spray some sealer over the entire job after your primer to seal it- primer soaks up water and causes rust. Its meant to hold the paint. What is that hatch man? i have a nice factory one you can put on that in the meantime if you need....
