What did you do to your 924/944 today

I changed the oil cooler seal on my 944 today. It was a nightmare of a repair. I still need a couple of replacement parts that I broke during the repair. I will use the time to keep flushing my cooling system.

Today I finished removing the clutch from my 89 NA for the first time. What a job. Had to drill out one of the allen heads to the clutch/press assembly. With the help of the Porsche shop manuals and Haynes I got it out. Now to order new parts.

Continued the dismantling of the "donor" vehicle for my LS1 project. Should have some really nice black interior parts ready for new homes soon (carpet pieces, relatively crack free 86 dash, door panels and door glove boxes, seats, other misc. parts).

Continuing the saga of my oil cooler seal, today I replaced the oil sending unit that I broke while putting the original back on (what a pain in the butt that easy looking task is). I also ran the car for the first time since the repair. The oil pressure jumped immediately to normal. The hoses were as hot as they should be without a thermostat. The car never overheated in the fifteen minutes it idled. The 50/50 mixture of Simple Green and water flushed out some oil, but not as much as I thought. In a hour I will fill it back up and let it sit until tomorrow and do it again. My plan is to put the thermostat back in Saturday and fill with coolant and water.

Final flush and fill after fixing my oil cooler seals. No oil came out of the coolant system this time. Filled up with 50/50 coolant. The car drove to work perfectly. I also took the opportunity to drain and fill my power steering with ATF.
